I was looking at the etti too. This was a good deal so I couldn't pass it up. I'll probably say screw it and end up pulling this mount out and putting in a 540. I'd rather run a 36 can over a 28 if possible

Little update nothing exciting. We got about a foot of snow over the weekend and had negative temperatures, had a couple cold ones and got some dirty work done. This is definitely a pretty thin hull so I put some carbon cloth on the hatches and stiffened up the hull floor while I was at it. No flex anymore. I didn't feel like ripping the motor mount out but I did drill the face plate for a 36 can. Esc will be a tight fit I'm hoping to get a T-120 in there, if not I may do a little experimenting with one of these http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-flyfun-100a-opto.html . A 3s 7200mah pack fits to my surprise.

That esc is about the same as a t120 just not coated or water cooled.

So theres not much difference being an air controller? If I go that route I will obviously waterproof it and give it some cooling tubes. I don't think a normal T-120 will fit, I need something more low profile. I was looking at the aquastar 120, but read its a rebranded swordfish? Not to fond of SF lately. The only spot I can really fit something decent sized is in front of the motor, under the rear boom tube.

An air controller might not work with a wheel radio unless you use a PiStix or a transmitter with enough throttle adjustment.

Very true. I have been lucky using some Hobbywing air escs and Turnigy Plush escs with wheel radio no adjustments required but, not guaranteed!!!!!

Good to know thanks for the heads up. If I end up going with the air controller I will order a pistix just in case

If you run Spektrum or some Futaba radios, the PiStix won't be needed.

Got a speedo, my buddy gave me a dynamite 120 that he said didn't work and whada ya know it works great so I shaved some plastic off the bottom so I could fit it under the middle spar. Picked up a TP 3630 from Darin. Finished the steering with a mini traxxas servo I had since a standard size one was too big. Drilled the strut for an octura 3/16 bushing so I can run a normal cable not the 4mm crap that it came with. And made a turn fin, the dinky one it came with looked worthless. I have no idea how it will run Lol, find out once the ice melts.

The brackets for the front boom tubes are slotted to allow up and down adjustment, anyone have an idea of a rough starting point how high or low I should set them? Or is that something I will have to wait to adjust once I get it in the water and see how it runs? Any advice is appreciated, never set up a rigger so not sure how that adjustment affects the way the boat rides

I finally got to get a little test run in on this. Handled really well for tossing in a pack right off the bench. Temps were low after a 5 minute run on a 2s SMC 6500 pack, but the ice just melted so water temps are chilly. Used a 42mm cnc prop I may go up depending on temps when the water warms up. Got a short video of my buddy running it he didn't want to hold it wide open Lol

Here is a video of me running some laps with the rigger. Really liking this boat its much more convenient running one lipo instead of two Lol

Thanks. I have the front sponson adjustments as high as they can go (bow of tub up all the way). Not sure if I should lower the bow down or what, I will take some pictures later, maybe someone can point me in right direction. It seems to run good but I'm curious what adjusting the sponsons obtains.
