Ose and rc boaters to support Louisiana.

I'm pretty sure this is against the rules. But I'm going to break them for a special cause.

As most of us know Louisiana has been hit bad and in need to help. I thought I could help and wanted to ask the help of anyone that could spare a couple of bucks. To make it interesting I will match all donations upto $500.00. I hope to raise at least $1000 but the more the better.

    I started a gofundme at

Offshore Electrics is asking the rc boating community to help out the people of Louisi… Steven Vaccaro needs your support for Ose & Rc boaters for Louisiana

    If anyone's interested.

I have to say I'm a bit surprised, and saddened by the lack of response from OSE members. DID NO ONE GET THE MEMO?
Unlike Katrina, where there was advanced warning, The people hit with this disaster were blindsided. And though the waters have receded, the damage done to many people's homes, lives, and business's may not ever be repaired. There are many here on these forums that spend more than $200 a month on this hobby, or others. Maybe you could put off buying that coupler, motor mount, etc for a couple of days.
Steven Vaccaro has put up FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS! And if any of you think he's getting rich by running this site, and being the worlds best FE vender, you are sadly mistaken. I was drawn into this hobby by the warmth, comradery, and generosity of members at the pond, and those on these forums, where is it now?
It's been nearly 3 days since Steven posted a call to action, and only 6 members have responded, ------------ SERIOUSLY !!!!!!!!!

Todd I see your side of things and can also understand some of the other guys. We all have to pick and chose which organizations or funds to give to. Sometimes there just isnt enough to go around. Being in the Jewelry store on a daily basis we receive lots of requests. I do have to turn many down. My dad and I tend to give to sports and local school plays and High school year book.

Yes we were definitely unprepared and hit by surprise. I incurred a small loss compared to a lot of people that I know. I'm housing my wife's parents because they lost everything except one vehicle. It's sad. It really is. There's a lot of businesses that may not recover. I'm going to take some pictures of what things look like today and post them this evening. It's saddening to see people's lives sitting at the road in big piles of ruined rubble.

The president is here visiting this disaster as I type this. I'm not sure where he is but he's supposedly here in town to see the damage which is quite immense. There's lots of people that are in need of help.

Steven, I do not *need* your help to donate. however, my paltry donation would go unrecognized, unrecorded, and perhaps just wind up in someones back pocket. I really feel I can trust you to place the money where it will do the most good. As a collective, OSE might get some recognition. Doesn't really matter though, certain OSE members can look back on this day with pride, and say yeah, --- we did that.
This is an historical event in Americas history, and an historical event for OSE. Please, be a part of it.

I took some pics for you guys and did a video through one of the many neighborhoods I pass by on my way home from work. Please watch the video. It's unbelievable.

You see this a lot. So awesome and my heart goes out to the people doing this. You should have seen the line of people waiting to get food. This was on the way to my house on my normal route

You see these signs on every corner

And here's some random pics I took of small businesses and houses

I've been on the site everyday and today is the first time I've seen this thread. Perhaps something can be done to highlight this thread?

There isnt much else we can do. we can sticky it, but those actually get passed by more than others.

Everytime someone posts it makes the thread go to the top, its been close to the top for the last 4 days.

Nice Steven, great cause. Having been through a hurricane, being without electric and water for 2 weeks not to mention the carnage isn’t fun.
