P-Limited vs P OPC Tunnel

Looking in the NAMBA rulebook, the only difference I can tell is that Limited has to be from the list of approved motors. Is this correct? Also, browsing through the 2015 FE Nationals results, it looks like the top 3 in both classes all ran a UL1 motor, so is there actually a difference between the setups for the 2 different classes?

There really aren't many people around the country racing OPC Tunnel, and even fewer racing in P-OPC. Most race in P-LTD, hence the lack of results/info for the class.

However, I can definitively tell you that the setups had BETTER be different... :)

For heat racing, I would expect a competitive P-OPC to be one of the larger 30-32" sized OPC tunnels (typical 7.5cc sized Nitro hull), and powered by an appropriate 2200-ish KV 36 or 40 x 74mm+ sized motor.

Thanks for the input Darin. Along with P-Limited, is there a specific ESC that has to be used? Or is that only within IMPBA or club rules?

No. P-OPC, at least in NAMBA (and I'm pretty sure IMPBA), is wide open. P-LTD for NAMBA is as well, except the actual motor, of course.

One COULD race their P-LTD OPC in P-OPC, and probably be reasonably successful, especially if you can finish heats.

Chris, I don't remember how many we had racing that day, but everyone ran the UL-1 motor
