What motor is in this 24" hydro??

Ok so i took a chance and bought a boat on ebay that had little description, it ended up being an older Bandit Hull, shovel nose hydro 24-25" long hull. I haven't messed much with boats and just wanted something to mess with on the pond other than my old JS 800.

Anyways it appears to be a club racer, 12c sub C pack, castle creation ecs but no idea which one no labels on it (ice lite maybe) and a silver brushless motor. Just trying to get an idea of rpm, and batteries it should use.

    Any info will be helpful.

It is an older Aveox motor with the endbell screwed into place, but no idea of Kv rating. Any suggestions for a starting point or ecs size? The castle barracuda doesnt power up or connect to my castle link, im assuming it's in meed of repair.

        Is it a CC-80 or a CC-125
Can you post a picture of it?

We use to run those boats with the aveox motors on 8 nicads. That's going to be a 3s lipo nowadays. If that one was set up for 12 nicads then you want to use a 4s lipo.

I figured lipo 4s was fine, just 0.4v difference. Ecs doesn't connect via castle link, I will try a battery see if it powers up to program, if not I will contact castle regarding ecs repair. As for Aveox motors, whats the voltage limit on them? How fast did they go? I've always run castle products in my 4 wheeled vehicles, mambas, and sidewinder I'm familiar with

Larry, here is a picture of the ECS, I have an email pending with CC tech support regarding the issue connecting to the Castle Link. I don't know if it's software issue or the controler yet. I found programming directions on CC's website, I'm going to try that tomorrow and see what happens.

That is one of the older CC-80's it has the old style spider fet's and the large radio board.
I run nothing but CC -ESC's in all my boats, I have 9 of them right now.
I modify them for water cooling also.
If yours is only in need of a new radio board, I can replace it and add water cooling for you.
An 80 upgraded with water cooling becomes a CC- 120.

Larry, Thanks for the information. I was able to connect the ecs to an old Skyion radio I had kicking around and I have forward and reverse on 2c lipo. But still no connection using the Castle Link. I'm going to run through the yes/no manual programming and see how it responds. If no success I will shoot you a message about upgrading / repairing this one

                  Thanks alot!!
