Get that thing to a SAW event if you can pull that off... the present SAW Record for the 4-Cell Cats (P-Cat) is 102.xxx...

That being said... it should be in the upper 100-teens... especially if you are taking advantage of the "any motor(s)" part of the rule.

That's namba which within driving distance for me is impba. Namba allows twins which is what that 102 record was set with. In impba the record right now is 78.xx which they only allow one motor. I actually built this cat with the impba record in mind and as far as I know the way it sits it's within guidelines for impba. This cat I have is a single powered. I do have a twin powered one I'm building that should go a bit faster than this one but I'll never run for a namba record anyway.

Makes me wonder how much RPM's Boyd was pushing with that 1940 and 38mm prop lol. That HW 180 had to have been modded heavily I'm sure...

Not sure... one would have to know the pitch. Diameter really doesn't tell you anything (with "0" pitch, would it matter if it's 38mm or 50mm??? ) I have 35mm props with over 4" of pitch...

Other than water cooling and additional caps... I doubt it. Probably good for 300+Amps for "burst".

I know but it's 8 hrs away. I can't go this year. No vacation time left. Have to do it next year. I'll be faster and better prepared (building a few more to run) next year.

I have little doubt that, if you target an event, you'll be well prepped. That seems to be your MO.

8-hours? Ummmm.... DAMN... I wish we had one THAT close! :) My drive is 18-hours each way.

Holy moly! That's how long the drive was one way to Minnesota. Not so sure I'd want to drive that far again lol.

Wish me luck. I just charged up some batts (not to full voltage though) and I'm gonna video it this time. I'm sure something will go wrong. Lol

Guess either the water conditions weren't as good as last Sunday or I made a change for the negative. I polished the prop and rudder. Maybe that hurt it. I didn't charge the batts all the way either (4.22v) to be fair as far as power goes. I'm charging batts back up right now and I'm gonna head back out there and make another few passes. I may change props this time. I had a bogus data log that scared the bejesus out of me reading like 198f so that's part of why I haven't gone up on prop. I checked temps today with my temp gun and the esc and motor never got over 110f so I think I'm easily good. Here's the two vids I got just now. This thing is super stable too. Water wasn't as smooth as I liked but it didn't care.

Well I charged packs all the way. I didn't think it would make a difference and it didn't. I did scuff the rudder and prop back up like I have it. But. I just remembered that my normal flex lube concoction was not used today. That may or may not have a bearing on it. I'm kinda thinking it did. I usually use a light amour of grease and some motor oil. This This I just used motor oil. I'd be willing to be the grease mixed with the oil doesn't wash oil as quickly as just oil. I'm making no changes other than that and I'll do it again this weekend. Regardless I got several high 90's passes in with not one dang flip. So I still call it a win. If the flex lube is the difference I'll be stoked and I really think it was.

                                Here's another pass.
