At first I thought that I was having a receiver range problem. After trying three different Spektrum rx models (SR410, SR2000, and MR200), now I am thinking it's a brown-out problem.
Setup is six cells, Leo 4092 1480kv D wind, Swordfish 220 Pro+ esc, auto timing, propped for about 120 to 140 amps. Symptom is that I can get up to full throttle for about a half lap, then the motor quits. After about a minute, it comes back to life. Then I can go another half lap or less and it quits again. And so-on. At any time it comes back to life, I can make it back to shore at partial throttle. Data log shows acceptable volts, amps, and temp.
Wouldn't the log show some sign of an esc cutoff? So I am thinking that the BEC is not delivering enough voltage under load. Next time out I am going to try a rx batt in the boat.
Has anybody had this happen?
