Reddy I have AC Pro I Sport 40 hull I built for nitro many years ago but never ran it . I bought a 580 8L to convert it to 6S . Did I buy the right wind ? and what prop does FE calk suggest ? I also want to try it on a 7.5 size Leecraft Tunnel hull I have with an AMPS geared Lower unit .

FECalc estimates to achieve the same performance in a hydro with the 580 8L, you would need to run 6S on a X442 prop.

What was the amp draw ? Steve says up to 1800 watts for the 580 . 21V X 87 amps in comes to about 1800 W .
2600 Watts on Andym setup sounds like maybe too much.
What does it look like for a 10L still on 6S

90 amps at 1950 watts for the 8L on 6s with a X442. Remember these are only estimates so always start out with a smaller prop.

That gives me something to think about . I'll try the 8L first. If the X442 will hold the stern up it might be OK . I might try a 10L later. A 9L might be just right LOL
