Revolectrix was selling them, maybe they are still good from there?

Why not just use bullets though?

I don't feel safe doing separate bullets.

Those ec8 came today. At first glance they look strikingly similar to the red ones sold here. I'll compare them tomorrow.

Well I dropped the ball on this thread. Sorry. But getting back to thinking about this and maybe what I'm using isn't quite enough, I pulled a set of the bag tonight and compared them to the red ones that I have. I was thinking the my were the same but just blue. Nope. A good bit different. The blue housings feel a little stiffer. The bullets are heavier and more metal to them. Weigh .6 grams more each (bullets). The opening where you put the wire is a good bit deeper than the red, but the red is wider. It does fit 8ga easily tho. I need to find a us distributor for them. I want to switch but they aren't easy to get. I have to get them from the UK. Ugh

This picture is misleading. The connectors closer look bigger but aren't

Man, just buy some LMT 6mm (400a) 0,035 mOhm bullets :P and just stick them into the EC jacket/case that you need...

Might as well just go with the best of the best at this point if that's what you're looking for...

Why? Those blue connectors are rated at 400amps and I won't be "rigging" something up to work. You ever shorted out a lipo? If the connectors come out when I'm pulling on it to disconnect it, that could be very dangerous. No thanks. I'd rather just keep what I'm using than do that. I do think these blue ones could possibly be better than the castles. I'll test that soon. I have to re-baseline the boat as I cut the rudder to short and I've got to start over.

I think you are chasing your tail but just my opinion. Buying connectors from eBay is a crap shoot at best. You have no idea of actual gold purity or plating thickness.

I've never used connectors with plastic shrouds for 10 years and only once let myself get distracted enough to short a 2s pack. There are ways to use heat shrink to avoid any problems.

Focussing on what you are doing during plug in prevents all my problems. If someone talks to me when I need to plug in I ask them to stop.

Knowing how skilled you are at building and how innovative you have been, I would think you would go for true high end connectors like the LMT etc and build your own plastic covers or just have them made or speak to LMT and see if they will jump in and make them. I think in the long run you will save money going this way.

No matter what I just can't be swayed to seperate bullets. I don't want to take the chance. I'll get lax one day or be nervous or something. I'd rather keep my had and be a couple mph slower (if better connectors are even worth that). I've emailed castle about making 8mm version of the green connector but no luck.

I emailed castle earlier tonight letting them know how much their 6.5mm green connectors are liked. Pretty much Everyone I know uses them. I suggested that they should make an 8mm version for the higher amp draw applications and 1/5 applications. Maybe if more people email them and show an interested they may make them. It's really needed anyway as we are constantly progressing and pushing things.

At least you'll be able to use top of the line bullets...

You can buy those red things at Lee valley for peanuts. They are caulking gun tip covers.

Yea... They're like $5 for a pack of 35 on amazon... not bad.

Haven't had any sort of incidents after i started using them, especially useful when disconnecting or connecting lipo before/after runs... i always keep a few in my pocket.
