I've been running it on a pair of these el cheapo Turnigy Heavy Duty 4000mAh 3S 60C LiPo's & getting around 15 to 20 minutes (guessing).

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Lipo_Pack.html

It's running at 42 mph on those packs and some modified 40mm Graupner carbon fiber prop's. I just bought a pair of Hyperion 3s 6500mah LiPo's from dethow, over in the for sale forum, specifically for this hull, & I have a set of brass 2-blade 38mm prop's coming. I'll time the runs & check GPS with the Hyperion packs & brass 38mm prop's on it. Right now the speed is just right for my niece to handle. I'll use the Turnigy HD LiPo's in the mono that my nephew will run (one 3s pack at a time) so hopefully they'll both get about the same total run time.

Ho!20 minutes! That is a long ride! It will be nice to run a boat for more than 2 minutes at full speed with my Pursuit! I'll run mine for the first time tomorrow! I'm pretty exited about it! But i ordered, ''just in case'', a pair of t120 to put in it!

And did you notices the double Teflon lining on the flex shaft? I think we can put a bigger flex without changing the stuffing tubes!

Don't hold me to that 20 minute guess, haha. The weather here hasn't allowed me to run this boat wide open throttle the whole time. I've just been doing. Straight passes, with the wind. All the lakes and ponds near me are too exposed & we've had non-stop gusty days that are really churning up the surface. I did notice the double liner. Thought that was odd. With those ESC's, you ordered, some slightly bigger/better motors & nice prop's, I could see this hull easily running in the 70 mph range. Though, I have yet to make any real heat out of the stock ESC's or motors. Electronics are all staying pretty cool.

I know what you feel about the weather, a lot of wind on my side also! It's nice to hear that the stock setup runs good and cool! I think i will be enjoying this cat,! But now, i need to learn about them... i know the basics of monos, but cats... nothing at all! The 2 t120 are in for the program feature, and like i said:'' Just in case''!

In a RTR hull like this you really only have to adjust the stingers, and remember to turn wide. Cat's aren't intended for zigging & zagging like mono's. Oh, and they may be a bit more prone to go airborne due to the tunnel created by the deck, bridging the sponsons. Their main purpose is stability. With twin drives you get a little more lateral stabilty in the countering torques of the prop rotations. There are also differences in behavior depending on the rotation direction you choose for your prop's:

Thank you for the tips! And that link was very Helpful! I'll check that rotation thing tomorrow. Maybe a change in the prop rotation could benefit!

lt130th, if i understood what the article was saying, it is more benefit to switch the motor rotation and the flex from one side to the other, Right?

Just curious if you haves given the new props a try yet?

I went to my local pond to test some cheap props and i was surprised of the improvement!

USPS sent the prop's to a post office 4 hours south of me...from a post office 45 minutes east of me... so I'm still waiting on them. I ran the boat on some very conservative 40mm carbon props (boat only ran 43mph on them), and all electronics were still cold after a full run-time. I really want to put a couple x442's on it just to see how the ESC's respond, but I don't have a counter-rotating pair of prop's that small. I'll have to order some. I think I'm going to go ahead and upgrade the ESC's anyway.

What size props were they? How much did you gain?

They are Turnigy 3P-36-13 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...x_13_1pc_.html. same diameter, but 1.3 of pitch. Maiden run speed was 66.2 km/h. Just by changing the props, i got 77.8 km/h. So it is +/- 13 km/h increase. Not bad!

lt130th, have you done adjustments to the stingers?

Oh yeah. That was the very first thing I did. On my last run I had them at about -3° (going by the gauge on the stingers) but they are actually at a positive angle if you consider the ride-pads neutral or 0°. I'm not near the boat right now to measure. I felt the boat was running just about right at that angle, though.
