I'd get with the times very happily if I had the disposable income required to keep up in this hobby. but I don't. I'd rather feed my kid and get a $13 adapter to put on an obsolete ESC handed down to me from someone that didn't need it, than spend that $$ on "getting with the times" as you so graciously put it.
Thank you for pointing that out. I guess I couldn't figure it out that Spending more $$ I don't have is all that I needed to do.

disposable income I can understand. the reason (one of them) I stopped racing 1/10th scale Hydros was the cost to field a competitive boat. I now am having fun with smaller less costly boats.
Have you advertised on RR? There has to be a few of them laying around

But I have sunk 3 boats thus far, one still unrecovered with a new ammo motor and ESC. If the supply is gone, my options are to sell my next born to buy electronics or quit the hobby.

OR... I guess I could seek employment where Doozie works in order to have more of that disposable income.

          3 boats sunk?

No foam in them for flotation?

If you are not on RR I would be glad to post a WTB for you there

Nada darn thing! It's all about the almighty dollar and the sale of the plans to another body that may want to produce them if we can prove a demand for them.
Sorry you don't understand the entire situation. Right now I cannot manufacture anything. Another party is interested in manufacturing them, but their decision process is a little longer than yours and mine. That's understandable, considering who it is.

If there were enough demand, it might speed up the decision to make them. If not, the whining of one person will only make it obvious that they are obsolete. Yes, they are, and btw I won't be making any money on them one way or the other.

But when their decision comes down in December, you guys will be among the first to know most likely thru Steve. And if they decide not to, then like I said, they will be released to the public domain and you'll be able to make your own.

I'm sorry you have such a time grasping the concept of the value of intellectual property. How would you feel if somebody gave away something on you? They wouldn't like it either, so all I'm saying is BE PATIENT, GRASSHOPPER. The answer will come, and when it does, you WILL have satisfaction either way.

In the mean time, learn to use flotation foam and a retrieve boat. It will help you spend less of the almighty dollars of your disposable income on your hobby. Been there, done that.

            Andy

BTW, the chip is a PIC10F20x. No secret there. The PiStix hardware provides the PiStix function as well as mixing, servo slowing, gear door cycling, and some other functions. If they manufacture the board, the PiStix software is probably the LOWEST priority of all (but that's OK, the deal lets me update the code for you on a board purchased for another purpose).

Yes. First was my small tug. I am familiar with FE, not scale, therefore I had no ballast. the wind blew across her port side, laid her down (no ballast) and down she went.

Second was by Miss bud. She went down because she took on water from the hatch at the back. (didn't tape) She was only visible from about 1/4" of her sponson tips. I count that as sunk.

Last was the 1st Mini-C I had. I just converted her to Brushless. she was so overpowered to have the stock outdrive at that angle, she leaped out of the water and landed upside down. she floated for a while, then started down FAST. and was never seen again. Dirtysouth31 & I spent 3 days trying to recover her from the 34 degree water. We attached extension poles to a lawn rake and raked the bottom, Dirty put on a rain suit and booth duct taped together to make hip waders, they leaked but he stayed out there as long as he could in that cold, Last we threw a cast net into the water in hopes to snag it, but never did.

The mini-c has a closed bow with no float foam. My second one, I opened that sealed bow and installed some foam in there!

                Andy,
I completely understand your point... NOW.
Maybe a little more thought in your choice of words.

It no longer bothers me to be honest, because it happens to me all the time Andy.
                  Example:
In late 2007. I bought heavenly sword for the PS3 on it's release date. I never opened it. My brother-in-law asked to borrow it. I agreed. He opened it, played it, and gave it away. I still have never played that game, and it's almost 1 year later.

Sometime in 2002, My sister borrowed my digital camera. (a sony) she had it for months. When I called to get it back because I was going on a trip, she stated that it was "lost or stolen" She never paid me for the camera, nor has she replaced it.

Those types of things have happened to me as long as I remember, from just about everyone I know. I must have "Door mat"written on my forehead or something.

I could go on and on, but I have to get to my job in hopes to generate some disposable income (ya right)

Smileys exist to convey expression not available in the text itself. Perhaps you missed that part, although you quoted it. It almost seems like you didn't read the whole posting because I explained WHY I wouldn't right then.

Ouch! I hope your relatives taught you a lesson! They certainly sound inconsiderate. I have a few movies I've loaned up, but it's my fault because I forgot who I loaned them to. (If anybody has a copy of "End of the Spear"or Veggie Tails "Jonah" that they borrowed from me...)

The pistix may be old news or out-dated, same with the blinky---- BUT I have both and if needed I would buy another.

Gee, now I feel really dumb (even more than usual) for waiting to order a pair of PiStix(s).

Oh well, I can understand how Andy just plain can't manufacture them anymore. Especially if there were facilities related to his old job that helped the process. I was a machinist for 15 years and could just whip up any parts I needed at the shop after work. Now, I'm out of the trade and am waiting for the day I can get a few small machines for the garage. In the meantime, I have to buy aluminum hardware like the commoners...it sucks!

Anyway, hopefully they get made again, but if not, I just wrapped a rubber band around my Hitec FM radio pulling the trigger all the way to full braking. The Turnigy 80A ESC I have arms just fine like that.
