Are you using the prop that comes with the boat? Try a x442, x437/3 or m445. But run and check

Where is you point of balance (COG)? Monos can be as far back as 27-28% from the transom. I find that the trim tabs can't totally correct the boat's riding attitude if COG is set front heavy. But you need to measure it and be precise . You can even add some weight in the back to see if it helps your boat to run dryer. I run 4s2p and the batteries are at the same place as yours but I bought my boat from a person who took the stock mount out and made some changes, mine is not 100% correct either, it also runs a bit too wet. I find the M445 and M545 worked best, but I have a completely different motor kv than yours. (Leopard 4082/2200kv, 4s2p)

        Hi,

@ Peter A: I Still run the stock prop. I cleaned it and ''tried to'' Sharpen & balance. My new props will be here somewhere this week.

@ tlandauer: The COG, without batts is aroud there, the black peice of tape (+/-9''):IMG_20150503_094814.jpg. Here is the inside layout:IMG_20150503_100216.jpg.

i've checked the trimtab, and they are at zero. The stigner is set by factory at around 1 or 2 degrees positive.
Today, i want to try a Rio EP plastic prop. It is a 42mm but it is not backcut like the stock one.

The cog must be set with boat in running trim ie batteries fitted, if the cog is at 9" without batteries then by the time you fit batteries the cog will be to far forward.

            When i put the batts in, the COG is a bit under 10''.( 4s 5000mah or 2x2s 5000mah or 1x3s + 1x2s 5000mah.)

My ESC is not in front of the motor, it is on the port side next to the motor , so I have more margin to move the batteries to adjust. Not saying that is what you should do though. Sounds like your stinger is set correctly. A slight positive angle.
As set, the COG is set with the battery(ies) mounted.

Hi tlandauer, i already did the same layout as yours this morning before i went to run it. it was better, but a bit unbalanced. i placed the batts right behind the motor and the esc beside the motor, on the left. But also ihad a plastic prop for a rio ep on it. It launches out of the water much better... i cant wait to get my grimracer 42x55 prop!

You need to make sure your port side is slightly heavier to counter the torque. If your battery(ies) is on the starboard , then I would think there is a tendency to lean to the starboard , no?
If you are running batteries on BOTH sides, then keep the ESC in front of the motor, that's what I would do.......

I see, I misunderstood what you said, you have both the ESC and batt on the portside?

That's exactly what I have done, but you said it was unbalanced, what was making you saying that. The boat might lean portside, but once on her way, the tourque that is generated by the prop will counter that. Was that the case?

When stationnary, the boat is prefectly straight, but when i hit the throttle, it takes of of the left(about 15degree deviation), go straight on that line, but it leans on the left, until i give a little hit on the steering.

With a bigger prop ( more torque) this may be less of an issue.....

Just got back from running mine again. I have it set it up the way Peter A showed above. I am running two 2s batteries though. 27% COG. Are you using a straight edge to check it? I "eyeballed" mine at first and it was running dry and porpoising(hopping). I put a straight edge on it and yup, I was off a bit. Runs perfect now!
