Thanks for all the info guys, this is such a great forum!

For Make-a-Wake my battery mah is 5000 which is pretty much as big as I can go physical size wise as this is a self righting hull and the battery compartment is limited in space. I don't have a 5S battery to try either but if I did I would imagine it would have to be lower mah just to fit.

As far as speed it's hard to tell by eye but it's probably closer to the low 40's the last time I ran it but that's just a guess. I like the idea of trying different props and changing the strut angle, if I remember correctly it was riding pretty wet.

I might as well ask before I post in the wanted section, does anyone have any of the props listed that they want to unload? I'm not that good at sharpening and balancing yet so if they are already that would be great.

Not sure if you want to, but the m445 and m447 are both in stock and are sharpened and balanced. Just click on the "sharpened and balanced" section and then scroll down through the "x" props until you get to the "M" props and you will see them. These sizes get real hard to find when spring gets going and are usually sold out.

Yep, that sounds about right. In the past I was always shocked how close my GPS would be to the calculated speed.

An m445 will be disappointing for any expected speed increase from an x442, probably 4-5 mph. I still think the 47mm diameter is getting on the large side, he needs pitch.

I am very happy with both the 447 and 445. The 642 and 645 props are good as well. All are worth trying out.

What boat are you running those props on, what motor, voltage, kv, if its not the same setup then its probably not going to help him a whole lot............just sayin

I have run them on the following boats... SuperVee, Revolt, UL1 Hydro, Insane Hydro(p-limited), Delta Force Cyberstorm (neu 1515), Pursuit, Insane Mono, 2 different Toysport Tritons(see the pics). My brother has his exact boat which I set up for him. All of the motors were between 1800kv - 2200kv running 4s. I think I forgot a few I have had so many..haha. I currently have a m447 on my Insane Hydro, and I am running a m445 on my delta force which now runs p-limited so it does not have the neu motor in it. I will give your suggested 645 a try as I am sure I have one in my prop box just to revisit it and see if what it gets me.

I did have a couple of these props pitched up and cut down by Mark Shouland to get a few more mph's out of them for racing. He is great at it.

Click on my name and view my profile and then look at my Album photos(bottom left side) and you will see some of the boats....most have come and gone as I tried out new things...plus a few have blown up, sank(never to be seen again). Yep..I have made every mistake you can make with lots more learning experiences yet to come.

Here is what happens when your hobbies get out of control....note the slot car track and train track running next to it... I try to only keep ONE boat for each race class that our club does. Keeps the boat count down and I can justify it to my wife!

Anyway, Jaybob..welcome to the hobby and I hope your ice thaws soon and now you have a bunch of great things to try out. The esc and battery you got are perfect for that boat by the way and will handle quite a bit of amps easily. Have Fun!!!

Thanks electric for all the advice, wow that's quite a marina you got there. I'm really not that new to the hobby I'm just at the part of my life that I don't have much time to use any of my boats. Right now I have two electric and one gas and I have had many others go through my garage. The Syncron I've had for three years now and only run it a handful of times and thanks to all the advice I'm happy now with the setup. Now I can try with confidence a little more prop and maybe some more volts. As far as the ice on the lakes it's 4 feet thick right now so it will be a few more weeks

I cannot even imagine 4 feet of ice. Never even see that. We are just 1 week a way from our first races of the year down here in Texas. The only thing we have too much of lately is rain.
