The post that I responded to was the post that I quoted. I can't control what you change it to later (your edit didn't occur until a day after I quoted it and responded). I understand you may have changed it because you meant something different or had second thoughts later on, but you can't hold me responsible for that.

With that said, "you won't find (m)any" is still incorrect and misleading. In Europe it's standard practice, and as a whole they typically run higher RPM than most US racers, at least they have for the last many years.

On a side note, this statement is awesome and maybe you can pm me a picture when you have a chance!
"as I type this, I'm looking up at a shelf with NINE 100mph+ boats"

I'm not trying to subliminally say anything other than that is pretty damn cool.
As I type this, I'm looking at a messy desk that needs to be cleaned! LOL
I would have to clean up a bit before I tried to take a pic of 9 boats that I'm not embarrassed to show.
I can link you to a couple videos though if you want to check them out:

I'm still enjoying this creation of yours! Also have watched a bunch of the vids, those speeds must be a blast. My various boats are in the 43-54 mph range and I enjoy every minute of them.

I wasn't holding you responsible for anything, I was just bringing it to your attention to let you know we ain't ALL perfect.

                          Nice boat!
One of the few single motor Fantasms I ever built, and if I recall correctly, it doesn't have a teflon liner!

Stephen Miles is the best there is in my opinion, although there are of course a lot of talented guys out there. He recently painted a 185 I built for a customer in Trinidad, and now he's there painting the full size mystic to match. How cool is that?

In case there is anything left to say about drives tubes, I guess we should stay on topic...although I could talk about boats that Steve has painted all night. I have a great appreciation for that kind of work because it is well beyond my abilities.

BTW I run teflon liners and because I don't like pulling the shaft every other run there is an oiler incorporated into my stuffing tube. I use chain bar oil to lube each run. To date no failures and I don't have to pull the shafts which is good as they all have ferrules or retainers to prevent the loss of props due to flex breakages, which also hasn't happened.

Bar and chain? That's something I haven't seen yet... interesting! Another great input.
