I had my shockwave 36 since 2007 . Couldn't get the nitro to stay running, it sat in my garage for 7 years. The hull has never touched the water.

David, I understand how you feel about putting in the motor mount and such for the first time it can seem a bit overwhelming. Its easier than it seems.
1) remove all the old stuff and thoroughly clean the inside that hull, nitro leaves a residue that adhesives have a hard time adhering to. I use mean green orange clean, its inexpensive non toxic and really cleans extremely well.
2) This is something I always do, but its up to you. I would do a carbonfiber cloth inlay in that hull. Lots of threads on OSE about doing this.
3) Lay everything out in the hull and get a close correct cg before you adhere anything.
4) Motormount, all I do is lay it in the hull, with motor mounted in it. Line it up with flexshaft as your guide. I then just lay some tape around the base leaving a slight space tween mtrmount base and tape. This way you get a clean look too when you do epoxy it in.
Lots of info on how to do alot of your conversion here on OSE but often others dont think about the new guy and leave out the tricks to make it easier. If I was doing this conversion I would go 6S, but thats me I'm a speed freak. Have fun, and ask your questions... DJTunnels-PS295. Cats-H&M M1 Supercat Daytona rivercat. Easy way to line up the motor shaft and flex tube. Cut a piece of rod, 3/16" or 1/4", about 3" long. Install it in collet on motor in mount, insert into your unepoxyed shaft tube and adjust until they perfectly lined up. Leaving the rod in the tube epoxy the tube in the hull. When that dries (24 hr's) epoxy the mount to the hull. After that hardens un bolt motor from mount and collet from shaft and remove rod and you have a perfectly lined shaft.Comment
