    My new EBAY boat

Picked this boat up off of ebay. From pics it look just like a 32" rivercat. I just got it here delivered just now and what I do not like is it has a plastic prop and the outdrive is loose and has lots of play even after tightening it down. The boat has a 1515 2200kv NUE motor and I am buying a 180 seaking speed control once there in stock. What prop should I get and from where? Do I need another drive as this one is not tight? If so what? I dont like the steering servo rod, idk maybe it will work ok? I like the aluminum battery trays. In my blackjack 29 I just velcro them, prob work ok for this too? Thanks for any help I appreciate it.

    1) prather 215 prop to start out with. Then maybe a 220 if temps stay in check.

    2) if the drive has slack, you can replace the bushing. Take clear close up pics of it.

    3) maybe the batts would stay in place with just velcro but I doubt it. A low speeds it might be ok. Maybe velcro and Pool noodles.

    4) steering rod should be fine as long as it does have much slack.

This is probably my favorite hull, I have 5 of them at the moment, so I do know a little bit about them. That motor will be fine on 4s (think I told you that) but you can run it on 5s or even 6s just to make a speed run. Do not cruise around on 5s or 6s tho. It will get hot. I'd stick with props in the 40mm to 43mm range.

Thanks kfxguy! I didn't know they take bushings. Do you know what size the flex shaft is? And is there on pre-made?

I'm pretty sure the flex would be .187 (3/16) buy could be 4mm. You'd have to measure. Looks like the 4mm strut in the pic. I don't think they come pre-made unless that's a tfl rtr boat.

I like the velcro straps with a buckle that are sold here, however, I also use velcro strips that you can buy at the big box stores. Would also seriously consider adding support for the rear of your motor, this
boat should get you around 50mph, and is gonna be slappin some waves.

You'll also want to kill the "Y" in the cooling line. Water takes the path of least resistance so odds are one side of the "Y" won't get as much water as the other. You can either run the motor and ESC cooling lines in series or parallel depending on which way hides the lines the best.

Thanks guys for the help. I am going to order some props and flex shaft. I have some shims from my rc cars I guess I can try on the outdrive.

It looks like the strut is thicker than the rudder bracket. Some shims should do the trick to pack out the thickness difference.

Good catch. I thought I saw that earlier but I was quite bust at work and couldn't give all my attention to it. Looks like the strut has been changed because of the different color it is. He could get some washers to tighten it up or get the offer rudder bracket they sell.

after careful consideration I think I want to get a rivercat instead of a cheetah. I think it would be a better fit for the Pond that i run in and the motor and esc that i have.

Just so you know, the rivercat is not a well turning boat like the cheetah is. I have both. I actually have three of my own rivercats. Lol.

Big problem I have now is my new seaking 180a speed controller does not fit once the hatch is closed. I might try taking the aluminum plate off but its epoxied down and once it is removed I am still not sure it will fit. What do you guys think? Maybe try returning the speed controller for another or remove plate?

You can mill the top of it down but you lose your warranty. The last boat like that i build it fit but barely.
