    Aeromarine Shadow Setups

To avoid jacking/cluttering another thread I've opened this one to answer questions about the hydro.

I use either two 3S or two 4S packs up front. I cut out the bulkhead to allow more room, and maintained hull strength by gluing/glassing a piece of 3/16" plywood across the top of the stringers. This gives me a LOT of room to move the packs for CG adjustment, and lets me strap them down between the rails for those 80+ mph crashes. I'll have better photos later.

Here is a shot of my oval racer along with shots of my SAW version with the modifications to the hull, allowing the packs to fit and move fore and aft as required. NOte that the forward bulkhead is intact in the oval boat, but cut away in the SAW boat.

You could probably run an x547 or x450 safely for a bit more speed. Do you "need" caps? Depends on how long your power wires are and the quality of your cells. IMO most of the commercial cap banks are inadequate for high-amp setups particularly 1P setups. But they are usually better than nothing. They do reduce stress on the ESC and that is always a good thing.
