This is my Jae21 with widened tub. That is a 5s 6500 setting in it. Also has a CC 1515 2200 with a T-180 Turning a 1450 prop . Best lap was 84 mph with old Zippys on Gps. got new batteries and a couple of new props to try to see if it can hit the magic number.

Nice Barrel roll at the end!

I like using timber as they are quick to build. Tyler is so right about the crashes. Tripping at over 100 is spectacular to say the least and pick up sticks at the worst. Not sure what everyone else thinks but longer length of the tub has made for a much more controllable boat. It does feel good when you are learning the SAW craft as I am that you can put 2 passes together without lift off.

Tks guys !... Brian, your Jae runs very nice, good interior pics too....Tyler, you hit on a topic within this discussion I was very concerned about "weight to hull floating ratios" ....Andrew exactly brother "success in run with NO liftoff" feels great ! agree a bit more length would seem to be more tunable to handle triple digit speeds I'm looking for in "my" 6S setup....

SAW size restrictions, I know in heat racing there is transom width and length restrictions for each class. How is this addressed in the saw classes ?

I'm not sure of your rules over there, but I thought some one could have answered your question.
This has still got to be my favorite pic of a rigger in flight. And look at the length of the tub.
Sorry the pic is so small.

The twin is a 40" tub, 6s is 39" and the 4s is 36". Quickest pass with the twin was 151kmh. I have new sponsons and props which will push it much further. The others are unknown until they are complete. Here's hoping though.

Can you get a Jae rigger prebuilt from zippkits with a slightly wider tub?

I don't think so but Mike of ML Boat Works cut me some parts (transom, bulkheads, deck and bottom) to increase with tub width by 1/2 inch. I'm sure he still has the files in his computer. I also increased the sponson width by 1/4 inch but I did that myself. The The boat really rocks with a full P set up. Fast and turns on a dime.

Unless you don't have the time, don't be afraid to try putting a JAE together. Even if you've never done it before. It's probably the best kit out there for a first build. No complex curves. You just need to keep everything square. Plenty of build threads and people with experience here on OSE to help you out.
