What strikes me about things like this. Options rule. If you could somehow come up with an off the shelf kit that people could buy to install the flood chamber themselves. Yeah there'd be work required for the buyer but most rc boaters are used to that. Produce some well written and descriptive instructions with a lot of pictures. You would be amazed what a set of good, step by step instructions can do. Then, perhaps offer the fully built flood chamber boat for sale as well as the classic non-chambered boat. One hull with a slew of upgrade options will fit a large market segment. Just an idea :-).

I suppose offering the hull both ways would satisfy all. As a sport boater the self righting hull pursuit would be a great addition to the fleet. Of course a retrieval boat or responsible means of getting a dead boat back is a must if you really want to enjoy the day.Comment

YES please a one piece shaft not the 2 piece that all TFL boats come with. All my TFL boats (5) have been converted to one piece shaft for easy maintenance of greasing the shaft for the days run.Comment

My 2 cents, offer a gen1 non flood and gen 2 flood chamber and a quality one piece flex shaft , i have owned a pursuit and would buy another one with a flood chamber in a second-and i skimed through the some of the non topic stuff . Most racers are not going to buy a flood chamber boat anyway because of limited space flood chamber takes for battery placement and monos are the only boats to self right anyway everything else that flips is dead in the waterComment

Reading all this only reinforces why I will remain a sport boater and not race, same as why I will always fly my planes solo instead of at a club and events. The politics involved takes all the fun out of the hobby for me lol. I respect everyone's opinions on the matters and wouldn't try to change it, I just would not get involved in the first place. I do have to say though about them being a true scale representation of the real thing as mentioned earlier- if that's case, we need to slow these things waaayyyyy down to realistic scale speeds as well. There will also then be a LOT less flips and crashes, just like the real boats :).My favorite search engine http://google.comComment

No, I have not. Perhaps I should check one out. I see all the politics and complaining (not so much in this thread, just in general) online and picture it being nothing but a bunch of whining so I have avoided it lol. I know a lot of the flying fields I have checked out were more bs than they were worth to me, so I imagined this would be about the same. Sounds like maybe I have unfairly judged it. Thanks for the reply, Doby. I'll have to find and check out a race sometime. My favorite search engine http://google.comComment

I have been to several races myself, I was crewman for Properchopper, I agree that the atmosphere is really friendly and supportive, all the guys you see on the board were there, (West Coast side anyways). I had a lot of fun and learned and watched first hand, I wouldn't trade that for anything else
.
But, at the end of the day, when I want to be with my boats and enjoy the scenery of the lake, it is a time that I want to be alone. I know it sounds terrible but it is true, that's why boating gives me so much pleasure and renewed energy, because the scenery is great and the whole setting evokes peace and tranquillity------something I miss from my hectic commute and life style.Too many boats, not enough time...Comment

Yep. I would say that's 99.5% dead on on. We just finished the Cup race and not one mention of rules this - rules that. Representatives from both major racing organizations in attendance. All of us laughing at each other like the children we are. Still did some quality racing but there we're all friends on race day. This is as far as I can tell true no matter the fuel source.
Monica, I know you have received mixed reviews on the new paint scheme but I like it. Will it be available in more than one color? Would look sweet in red with those graphics.Noisy personComment
