Use those water inlets from OSE, one for each transom http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80405 and a propeller 1,4 pitch 2 or 3 blades 45mm diameter

Is it actually better to have the ruder offset? Or should I just move it back behind the prop

Most prefer offset rudders with high performance boats, single or twin. This gets the rudder out of the prop wash, which is full of air and reduces rudder efficiency in holding the transom in place. The aerated water also can cause the boat to "hunt" with poor directional stability. Plus it is easier to remove the driveline than when a rudder directly behind the prop is used. I have set a lot of SAW records with cats featuring offset rudders. All my oval racing cats have offset rudders.

Many use the rudder directly behind the prop with success, but IMO it is not optimal. ProBoat seems to agree, they modified their RTR cats from direct rudder to offset rudder about a year after they were introduced.

OK sounds good thanks , the issue I seem to be having is the ofseting plate seems to be draging in the water ... Even at full speed its slightly touching

                .

Sorry to jump in, I had experienced the "hunting" on both Cat and mono when the rudder is inline. I thought it was a weak servo, this makes a lot of sense now. I never could understand why my MG will go left and right as if it is stricken with "Parkinson's disease"
The moment that I installed the off set rudder, this problem was gone. Although the wah-wah-wah had increased a lot until I blue printed the sponson ride pads.
Too many boats, not enough time...

So I have done a few runs and for some reason with the he 3 blade 48mm its only pulling 130amps... That's kind of low isn't it ?
