Terry,
I think your magic smoke has a bit of Propylene smell to it.

We run in generally rough, windy conditions so we can't run too fast and still finish, but the fastest winning oval boats in Texas have top speeds recorded in racing heats of:
P Mono: 52-54
P Limited Mono: don't run the class
P Sport Hydro: 58-62
P Limited Sport Hydro: 52-54
Q Sport Hydro: 65-71
These speeds allow the racers to actually finish race heats, not set SAW records.
.
Nasty chit!
We're gonna ask some contestants if they would like to run together rather than not at all for our "Can-Am" race this weekend.
We only have a couple .21 nitro monos and also .45 nitro Sport 40's.
Based on the above .21 mono and P Limited Mono might work, not sure if SP40 would be best in P or Q Sport Hydro, think a good running SP40 will do around 60 mph.Last edited by Terry Keeley; 07-22-2014, 06:17 PM.Comment

Terry,
P-Ltd mono and 21 mono are a good match up
P-mono and 45 mono are good together
p-Ltd sport and sport 21 or sport 40-1 can run together. These are very competitive boats
P-Sport hydro is as fast as sport 40, but they likely will not handle the same chop as most people use P-Ltd boats with more power.
Q sport is as fast as Sport 60 and probably not a fair fight in Sport 40-2 unless they are excellent sport 40-II boats.
You could allow P sport and Q sport to run with sport 40 and if someone is just outclassing the field, respectfully ask them to prop down. I don't think anyone will be too hurt.

I'll come out Friday and i'll talk to you then Terry. I'm not really thrilled about combining from what I've seen in the past. I also need to see the size of the course in the pond. I do remember fun running my P-mono there in the past and space, well..... I dunno, we'll see....
I had a feeling that's what this thread was about.Nortavlag Bulc
