We ALL know how kintec runs... And that you WILL get your order, yet here is another thread crying about it.

Buy from him or don't. Just quit complaining for cripes sake...

If you look at my initial post I am asking if anyone knows what is going on at Kintec that might shed some light on why my order hasn't shipped and no response to email or phone-----I.E.--they are on vacation, out of town, death in the family........... I was giving Jan the benefit of the doubt that there might possibly be a good reason for my delima. And there still may be.

In the past 2 months I have spent $313 at Kintec. This is 3 different orders. One was all there, one was missing a backordered coupler which I got a couple of days latter, and this current order. I buy from Jan because I prefer to spend my money with U.S. venders and Jan has some stuff that Steve at OSE doesn't. I give the venders I order from lots of leeway, as I know sometimes sh*t happens, all I ask for is a heads up. I spend about $800-$1000 a month on this hobby (yes I know I have a problem, or so my wife says). I order from a lot of vendors and usually don't have communication issues. Usually I just login to my account with what ever vender I have bought from and check the status, But I can't do that on Kintec, so I expect to get a response from them when I email.

I am in no way bashing Jan or Kintec. I am just trying to get some answers to my emails about the $200 order I places 11 days ago.

Go ahead bash me? All I am saying is COMMUNICATION! It's not hard. Just get back to people in a timely manner. He could be doing it for the love of it but at what expense? If you are too busy to get back to people, (I find that hard to believe) then maybe back off a bit on the 2nd business. With todays tech communication is not difficult. A quick response on a smartphone and the world is happy. The perfect example is when I contact, via email, a client and ask about an unpaid invoice. "Is this invoice in process?" That's all I ask them. The easy response is, "Working on it." But for a handful it's just silence. Ive talked to Kintec a few times over the years. He was always nice and courteous. Just respond thats all I ask.

          Go ahead bash....

Not bashing, I completely agree with you. I guess I just assume some people are not as good with communication and technology as a whole. However I have had poor and complete lack of response from multi million dollar companies also that make Kintec look good in comparison. It is what it is.

I got my part that I did need within a reasonable amount of time. He does seem to ignore emails that are soon to be self answered or until he knows an answer. Busy fella, he might just have another life instead of selling you parts... Spam email boxes catch the wrong things too!

I you don't like him then don't order him, I like him and I have only had 1 back ordered part. If you don't like how he operates them you need to cut him a check for some more employees or go into business with him. I've never met the dude so I don't know how he is, always be kind... Coming from someone who knows a lot of small business owners people do have a life, sometimes one can take over the other...

Gone are the days of hanging a sign on the door that reads: I reserve the right to refuse business to anyone, customer is not always right , if you don't like our business then don't do business with us :).

Not too many vendors in our hobby and don't be fooled by spending money in the us, as close to 100% of the products are foreign made anyway. And just think that every purchase you make your support goes towards some American job( postal service) I like his business, he is honest, no b.s., if a part is not in stock he may hold the order a day or two knowing stock is on the way so you will have your order full. But then someone will bitch if he requests more for shipping two separate orders, (he never does, he absorbs that cost). And has anyone that ever complained about a part being in stock when ordering only to say it's not, you are not the only person ordering!! He might have twenty boats in but twenty-five people may buy them in a relative short time span. Ya know like when he is a work and doesn't have time to access the site to pull the order code. Most of the people that have been making posts on this forum are and have been reasonable in their expectations and business transactions but think of all the idiots that we don't know about that order from him and complain about no return email to a meaningless question, or who open a claim only to have order arrive in a reasonable amount of time. Ya know its like going to mcdonalds- you expect to stand and wait for your food that some 16yr old who just picked his nose throws a pickle on your big Mack and throws it in the box sideways while you watch him openly cough onto the French fry bin. But yet no one cares. While going to a $100 a plate restaurant and waiting 45 min for dinner served with white gloves- you expect the food to be correctly prepared and not to see the chef cooking with a cigarette hainging out his mouth. Well 95% of the time jan has been excellent with delivering product and supporting our hobby so it seems his norm which is way above and beyond almost ALL the other vendors has been overlooked so when his delivery is on par with 90% of all other business so of us get frustrated. Go figure? Ever deal with hobbyking? Yet you still order from them?! Not saying your hard earned money isn't worth any more than mine but when you get your product (and you will) don't place another order because the guy doesn't need the grief. My hat goes of to him and I'm appreciative and thankful for having another honest and reliable source for parts. And maybe if he limited the amount of product he had he may well be able to devote more time to answering the multitude of questions that may be asked but that will only limit the amount of time he has to stuff parts into envelopes. ?? And or get on the horn with his suppliers harassing them on location of his inventory. ?? Good day and hopefully she stays floating. !! :)

Or not, these threads keep popping up.

A really good start would be if he'd quit selling what he doesn't have. Then he could process orders in a timely manor and there would be no need for communication.

I'll never buy from Kintec because "it is what it is".

I live near Jan"s shop and a week or so ago we got hit with a hell of a storm. His power was out for 2 days and was fixing his roof and replacing a window. He is one man and works very hard to get us our toy boat parts.

If you order from Jan, you have to be patient. It's tough to be patient. We have become a world of " instant gratification". We are not happy if we don't get our stuff ASAP. He is one of the only vendors locally I know of that has 8ga wire. My LHS doesn't even carry it. Their moto, " Big toys for big boys" I find it hard to believe that I live by one of the largest bodies of fresh water and there is very little support for R/C boating. Most of the stuff is RTR and replacement parts for factory built stuff. Very little scratch build stuff. If I'm building something, I take into consideration what I need and who I'm ordering from. I have placed 1 order with him and paid for it and an hour later realized I forgot something and ordered again. Paid for shipping twice only to have him refund it and pack it all into one box and ship it within a week and never even asked for a shipping refund. Steven has great customer service and communication. His shipping is stellar. He has stuff not found at kintec and vise-versa. Both have more than my LHS. We're all looking for the lowest price, cheapest shipping and fastest delivery. Hard to achieve all 3. I would wait a few more days, but to each his own. He is certainly not trying to take your money and run. I don't think he needs $$ that bad to end his endeavor or love of the hobby.

To this day, my water jacket and lipo adapter have not showed up. Sent and email to Jan alerting him that I opened a dispute. I really hate to do that to him but sheesh, enough is enough! I ordered stuff in March, here I am in September with missing parts. Does anyone personally know Jan (PM me if you do). I just want to make sure he is still alive.....

Why must this be such a polarizing and passionately divided issue?? I dont understand what underlying theme is here that is causing the same thing to be reiterated over and over again.....

it wouldnt be very difficult to make a statement that is informative and/or constructive towards the intentions of the OP upon creating the thread.... however, can we not all agree that Jan could potentially benefit from improving his communication with customers? That being said, no one is perfect and were all human, we could all use improvements in practically any endeavor, this particular situation doesnt warrant any angry outbursts or snide remarks, as things will be the exact same at the end of the day. I think most of the people who have complained in a similar manner simply misjudged how soon they would recieve their order, it doesnt mean they dont recognize small business management or have a personal vendetta against the guy, which unfortunately some of the responses I read would led an individual to believe....

Oh that place is a mess..

I placed an order just a few weeks ago.. As soon as the order was placed i realized my address was incorrect.
Literally, and i swear, but 3 minutes after i submitted the order, i was submitting an email with my correct address.

They STILL sent the package to the wrong address, made no effort at all in correcting it.

Not going to jump into the debate, but I am a bit concerned that everything is OK with Jan, his site has not seen any updates for months, at least that is what looks to me on my end.
I never had a problem but I have not been building boats and have not ordered since Feb. and currently too busy banging my head against the wall with all my multi rotors.
