Why wouldn't you try it as a single set up? Does a duel set up make tha much of a difference to get to 100? Can anyone tell me if my set up will make the 100mph mark? Or do I need to buy a different hull double my set up and run a lower KV. What type of hull has proven it self at 100mph? Thanks
Intruder mk11 100mph set up.

43,000 loaded. Chris Fine hasn't had the best track record with boats and giving advice.
I would listen to Jay Turner and Keith Bradley any day over this guy. keith has gone well over 100 Jay I think too with a single tho? They won't advise you on a setup that may or may not make it through ONE pass. That boat will go very fast on 10s with that motor, but I think on 8s max you have enough rpm for some awesome speed, then you play with setup and prop I'm sure you can get 85+ on 8s with proper prop tuning.
7s you will be fine, 8s 60/40-you'll be fine, 9-10s, bring the fire extinguisher. This is coming from someone that doesn't want you to burn a perfectly good boat, there is a lot of bad information out there and lately there has been even more of it and people burning escs and motors, and this is WITH much better parts than we had even 4 yrs ago. This tells you there is a trend.
Going 100+ is hard as hell for most of us, and people willing to spend enough $ to go that fast will tell you that power is RARELY the problem, prop tuning/strut/etc is. If you're a newer guy you can have some fun, a lot of fun actually going to the lake with a bunch of 6s, 7s, lipos and see how well you can get it running and how fast you can reliably go. My rule is if you can run it WOT like its "almost boring," over dead flat water and not crossing your own wake then you're ready to go faster, boring sucks but means you're at least consistent.
You won't be getting bored any time soon with that boat.Comment

Proven at 100 mph and up. Look to spend over 2 grand to get it up and running with lipos. I own a slightly bigger mystic 138cm, great boat but not a good "first boat." Mystics are great but not exactly easy to build, I would send a pm to someone who knows how to build one. There are a few guys on here that offer build services.
100mph is a nice number but is just a number. An accomplishment yes but will 90 mph work? You'll find it much easier to get there. A lot of people use 100 as a measuring stick, I gps my boat at 93 mph and have never gone 100 but 93 mph just works all day every day for me, so I bought another boat.
Some boats are fun at 100, others at 90 and some at 50 mph. You have to run it enjoy its running characteristics for what they are and on a good day throw on a gps. If you couldn't be happier with how it ran at 80 mph, then build a faster boat!
This may seem like weird advice but I know some of the builders on here will understand what I mean.Comment

Thanks for your opinions I won't run it on 10s but open season for 6s and 8s. I will start building a new boat to run 100mph. Thank RyanComment

What type of current draw would you expect running 100mph with a single motor?

Without reinforcing the hull I don't think it would survive a high speed crash. 1440 kv at 10s is asking for trouble. Is the motor shaft 8mm? I can't see things holding together long enough for you to get it tuned to start getting up there in speed. You should call Chris and make sure he is going to warranty the boat at 10s. If he agrees, get it in writing and go for it. Almost all the semi reliable setups doing 100 plus mph are twins. Theres a reason for it and it may be better to enjoy your boat at 6-8s and keep it together and build a twin hpr or mhz that will suit your goals far better. I don't see things ending well on 10s with that setup. I haven't gone anywhere near that fast but my goal is to get there and the german forums really give you some great information on what you need to get there. It's much more secretive over here. Just the way it is I guess. Good luck with your boat!Comment
