To be honest, it doesnt look like a big improvement so far as the "old" T180 is a stunning ESC.

-On/Off-Switch is one more item I dont need and just something more with can fail
-water cooling block still doesnt look really efficient, no idea if the thermal connection between FET's and cooling is as bad as on the old T180's
-caps look tiny, hard to say but I'd guess only 2x 35V 330µF from the picture?
    -still has BEC
-only works from 3S-6S, whereas the old one also worked with 2S setups (okay in the description it says 2-6S, the sticker on the ESC tells 3-6S so who knows?)
    -unproven yet

    +smaller physical size
+water resistant, according to description will work completely submerged

    regards,
    Manuel

I can't agree more, the phrase of the day is "unproven until proven", I guess time will tell. I am troubled by the switch as well as the small cap, but, at least HW is suporting the boating crowd.

The switch is as easy fix. cut off, solder wires together...head shrink. no problem.

Hobby Wing coming out with new 120 & 180 amp esc's

My "contact" at SeaKing told me the original SK180V3 was to hit shelves a few days after the first of Summer (2014), them he notified me that they had to push it back because the ESCs couldn't pass QC....
Why are you bothering me? I want to see your boat!

I've gotten some Leopard Marine 180 esc's to fill the gap until the Seaking 180 v3 comes out. Basicly its a Seaking 180 that Leopard privately labels.

Im not sure, But my best estimate of when the new version of the seaking will be in is about mid to late summer.

Is there any esc's out there with true power readings? A high grade esc?
