    Delta 26 atr copy test

I ran one of those copy Delta force boats this weekend with the small outrunner motors.

The motor was 2700kv and ran a 3s 2500 pack.

It ran about 27mph with the outrunner but couldn't keep the motor temps below 160 degrees f. Tried a smaller prop, but the results were the same.

I swapped a 10L 380 Feigao and ran 30mph with temps in the 110 area with a water jacket on the motor.

Some thoughts about the hull and hardware.
First the quality of the fiberglass on a scale of 1-10 is about a 7. A few minor imperfections, but better than some of the hulls out there.

The motor, battery tray wooden mounts are a great idea, but only glued in. Mine broke away from the hull after the second run. This mount should be glued with some fiberglass cloth.

The flex shaft is a .150 cable with a squared end at the prop shaft. The prop shaft is 4mm.

The hull handles quite well and turns better than I would have thought without turn fins.

I will try to post video in the next couple of days.

So you had no vibes in yours? Also what was the runtime with the 2500mah and what ESC did you use? Will be nice to see your vid!

Also please let us know what prop works best, I will be running the 2618kv 380L, a little less then your 2890kv.

The esc came with it and didnt have instructions. No cutoff on it worried me. So I never tried to push the packs near the end, so I'm not sure on runtime. I ran a stock prop, that I cut down by 2mm.

            those hulls are rather good.
i know we have a couple running 1515 1D's at our pond ( the knock off deltas) and they handle just great!!

Anyone have any idea what the run time would be with 2500mah? I am going to order some packs but I just want to make sure the 2500mah is big enough.

Eyekandyboats, what is your full setup with speed and runtime you think?

i don't own one. i said a couple of guys in our club have one.
but some setups for this boat. is a NEU 1515 1D (4100KV) on hydra 240 running 4500 30C 2s setup in 2P at 9000 Mah, we can run a race course ( about 1 min 30 seconds) and we can usually do two runs with out a top off.

fast is the only way. slow down and you lose.
but we race. 7 classes 3 heats a day.. 21 races a day with 3-6+ boats.
our P mono ( 12 cell or 4s boats) we have about 9 boats. N2 ( 6 cell or 2s) we have to many!
its fun but some people take it to seriously and it drains all the fun out of it !

I have the 29" version but not ARTR, just bare hull, I confirm she handles very well even though mine is a bit heavy at 2,5kg, with a 8XL under 3S that's already fast for the beginner that I am!

Steven, how does the speed of this boat compare to a stock SV?

he said it does 27 mph box stock which is slower then the SV box stock.

I am asking because I don't know what the true speed of a stock SV is.
