    2 antennas???

I've been replaying in my head a few of outings and they all have something in common...I lose signal. Let me explain. When I go a couple hundred feet one way or the other, I get a cut out for a moment. If i go too far I lose it all together. I keep thinking I have a bad connection where the esc plugs in (had that happen before). This happens at radon and not every pass. I put a little longer antenna tube on this weekend and it seemed to help but not completely eliminate it. I also remember when I go run at a place where I'm standing several feet above the water line...no issues. I was thinking I had an esc cutting out on me but then it dawned on me after reading if the esc loses signal for a couple seconds, it shuts down as a safety measure. My question is, I have an Mr200 receiver in each boat with one antenna sticking out....should I put the other sticking out too...even if just a little?

    -running a new dx4s radio
-all boats are full carbon fiber
-this happens way more often and worse when my son drives to the right as he drives with his right finger on the throttle, left hand steering and arm blocking the antenna to the right. Does not happen when going left.

    What should I do?

Spektrum says the long one in the tube and the short one under the deck tapped under the edge. That's the way I have them and I've never had a problem. I've also got some of my boats on a Futaba 4PL most of the RXs only have one antenna, I put them in a tube. My Cheetah is on the Futaba and I have a short tube under the hatch on the ESC cover and it works fine.DSC02405.jpg

Two of mine are CF, the Ariane and my Daytona one is on Spektrum and the Ariane is on Futaba, no problem with either one. I don't know what to tell ya, maybe try moving the antennas to different spots in the boat. What do you have in your radio for batteries, I went to LIFE 2s radio packs in both of my radios and it helped with the range quite a bit http://kintecracing.com/Home_Page.php Scroll down on this page they are the zippy 1100mah Tx packs

Well I think one of my kids ripped me off...I'm pretty sure I had Duracells in it.

On a few of my FG hulls I had taped one antenna under the opening edge and the other one under the hatch prior to taping up the hull w/o problem, but I now have retro fitted most of my boats with antenna tubes, I have grown to like them.

Well I can try better batteries. If that doesn't work...will the shorter antenna sticking out a little likely help?

If nothing helps, simply switch to Futaba FASST system. And join the dark side of almost unlimited range.

                  regards,
                  Manuel

Kfx I have used the same MR200 on both my Popeyes and have both antennas coming out top of boat. I still get the same problem. When boat gets about 200yards from me occasionally I get the same thing where I lose signal for a brief moment. It only seems to happen when I let off full throttle in a turn but none the less it's very annoying. Was looking for a solution to this myself. Jeff

If the same receiver has the same problem in two different boats, perhaps the problem is the receiver. Or, if the problem is tied to throttle position, perhaps the ESC is the problem by not supplying enough power to the receiver. Try running a receiver pack and see if the problem disappears. Don't forget to disconnect the red wire first.

Too, following the manufacturer's recommendations for antenna placement might help.

It's the same receiver model number (mr200) but I have one for each boat. Seems like three of the four boats I've had (all cf) had the same type of issue..I have a external bec (different name brands and models) on each one. Something I've failed to mention is each one i just kinda stuffed the secondary antenna up in the empty space by the transome. I am going to route it better and I also had low on voltage, cheapie batts in the transmitter.
