Range is inversely proportional to data rate. NASA sends low-power transmitters to the edge of the solar system, but they send data back at 300 baud or slower.

Car guys need the 5ms latency. Boaters don't. DSM-Marine is 22ms.

....i have the same range issue with my futaba running my cf aeromarine cat, but i also had the rec. antenna inside the boat....
The problem is that CF is a great radio insulator, blocking the signal. Put the antenna completely outside the hull.

Any suggestions. You can keep the dumb radios. After you learn to use the features of the computer radios ya cant live without them. The M-11 even has anti lock brakes. A must on a 100 ' straight in an 1/8 scale car.
How do you bind a servo with a receiver? Am I missing something?

I have been eyeing this one for months, but for some reason HH is out of stock, I went to my favorite LHS, they are reorganizing/down sizing, and I picked one up for less than the HH's price!

Too many boats, not enough time...

I just picked this deal up about a month ago http://www.ebay.com/itm/151270056018...84.m1497.l2649 , cause my Radio Post quit working. The guy only used it one time and only had it for a couple months. The warentee card was still with it in the original box so I sent Spektrum a Email telling them the whole deal and the guy told me to go online and registered it for warentee like I had bought it brand new. Now I have this and my Futaba 4PL, so far I really like the Spektrum I'm using the Marine Rxs and no problem at all with range even in a CF hull. Like Rich said, you just have to run one of the antenna outside of the hull in a tube.
