I was asking a generic question as to if there were any sites (like the one I won’t mention again) that allowed the user to select a hull, parts, etc. and then have it built vs. building it myself.

I have been doing google searches but seem to keep finding misc. boat sites but not many that offered to build it for the customer as well (well at least for a decent price). Also the ‘be aware there are some bandits’ was another reason I thought I should ask first and have one of the experienced boaters lead me in the right direction, instead of finding out after the fact that I went with a bad dealer. I wasn’t aware that OSE had those options and thought they sold parts alone and did not build it for the end user.

Being one of the new guys I had no idea that we are not to talk about, ask about or reference any site that could be construed as the ‘competition’ and I’m very sorry I made that mistake. Lesson learned. Now I know this isn’t that place for this type of question I’ll make sure I don’t ask for this type of information again.

Thanks for welcoming me to the site Scotsman… made me feel all welcomed
Jim, not a problem. When you ask a question, please make sure that your questions have ALL THE INFO. I am an old fart and I am easy to a cranky reply. But all said and done WELLCOME ABOARD.

Is there something about this hull that I'm missing? Is this the Gucci version of Hulls (like the top dog of all hulls)? I was thinking in the area of $300-$400 for the hull, $600-$700 seems a bit much but then again I may be missing something very key that this boat hull has.

If this is the be all of Hulls, than I guess I'd also need to put some key equipment into it as you shouldn't put on the "Pic'n'Save" clothing mixed with Gucci.

Anyway just though I should ask.
Yes, there is something you are missing. This hull comes with complete running hardware for twin drives, which accounts for the seemingly high price. Without the metal bits, it would fall into the price range you mention. And yes, it is Gucci to the max. You can save a bundle of cash by building a vacuum-formed hull, but be prepared to invest a lot of time truing it up to compete with a molded European hull.

I have no problem with people posting links. Randy at BBY and Ray at Fullers are both good guys. The only problem I have is some butt head in NY(for personal reasons). But even when people posted his links I have not deleted them. As a matter of fact we haven't ever deleted any rc boating links, just that spam crap for camera's that pops up every once in a while. Even United Hobbies, gets linked and I leave it. Even though they are a thorn in my side .

The site is here for all to enjoy their hobby. Its impossible for one rc store to possibly have everything needed to supply the hobby. But I'm trying my hardest to cover that! Until than links are welcome.
