Lol, just trying to keep it clean. We don't need any arguing! I think there's a bunch of good info and you know how it is, there's always going to be people that don't agree. I'm ok with that!

You know, someone has to be "that guy" that pushes the limits of things just to see how far he can go. Sometimes....I'm "that guy" lol

The next thing to think about how fast it should go, this will lead you to rpm.

Is it able to go that fast and how much current you need is another story.
If you're viewing this thread and really want to grasp the concept of prop and RPM choice, remember this guy's post.
If you didn't already know this, it may be the most valuable information you ever read on this forum.

Now everyone put their theory's to practice and go run some boats. It's spring for heaven's sake.

Over prepping? Should I be concerned? I'm considering a prop and motor swap. I may just go to a 2030 and step down on the prop. The sliding is gone so hopefully I don't get hung up at the exit of 1 like I was last season. Do you think you will be running in the 50's? I don't think I'm there. Have some tests I want to run but not sure ill get the chance

To Terry....not a bad idea to remember how creative some early pioneers of FE were and the frustrations of getting the most out of what was available in the day. Also the records that some posted with that equipment was amazing, especially a lot of old lads that still post on this forum and there were the GERMANS and other Europeans

To Mr. Smock....Doug, we have all mellowed with age....Oh yes, we could be cantankerous, throw chairs, hurl nice comments about each others mothers.....Ah, those were the days!!??...right all of us Archie Bunkers.

My Phil Thomas 45 sees 45-46,000 on average and runs consistantly around 102-104mph with a best of 107. Only problems I have seen are bent prop blades 4 out of 10 runs and a spent esc at 20 to 25 outings of 3-4 runs each. I hope the switch to the Alien System ESC will cut this way down..... plus a 2 year warranty no matter what is perfect!! The more rpm I found in her, the faster it went. That was always my recipe and it works for me so wrong or right I have a blast with it!! Good times!
PT-45, 109mph, finally gave up after last bad crash
                  H&M 1/8 Miss Bud 73 mph

this alien esc you speak of...do tell. maybe a link or where to buy?

nevermind. I looked it up. The 300a 16s controller looks identical to a couple fightercat 16s esc's i already have.

I am not sure about the fighter cats esc's and yes could be identical to and built from Alien Systems but they sure seem to be some robust looking controllers. Worst part is for high amp where else would one buy from with out spending crazy money? T S Davis I run 2- 5000mah 6s 70-140 Thunder Power in parallel.

You should get that to a straight away event. You're 20+ mph faster than the records in either organization.

That's crazy fast. I wonder if Phil knows one of his boats is running that hard.
