OK, I had a chance to look at it. You mean to make better use of the stinger and not have it hanging off the sponson into the water flow, correct?

Can you keep the hole up high on that ear perhaps? If not then on the inside behind the barrel keeping mounting as wide of a footprint as possible.

Yes, exactly! It's a wide mount already, and if I put the hole in it where I am talking it will still be a wide bolt pattern.

I would keep the bolt pattern as wide as possible as there could be substantial side loads on the stinger. Not sure how much but it is always best to be safe.

I bolted it up with just the two bolts, one ear and one in center and I can damn near hold the entire hull up with just those two bolts.

what about using struts? the ride pads are narrow, so i see how its tricky to fit any stinger there. the stinger ose sell seem a bit narrower, but is it narrow enough….

thats gonna be a heavy boat hitting some good speeds. i overbuild everything tho.

I had thought about struts. I'm gonna play more with the mounts, if I can get them on and have them about 1/8 from the bottom of the ride pad I'll be happy. I'd prefer not to just buy parts for it that may or may not work for what I want. But the strut idea had crossed my mind, just less scale looking.

ok i got some double sided tape, and played with how it mounts up. makes it a lot easier. i think i have it figured out. the bottom of the strut tube is going to be 5mm above the bottom of the sponson. all holes will be used without modification.
