    one or two batteries

I am new to boating I have a stock impulse 31 I wanted to know if I could run one 5s battery instead of two 2s batteries , I have one water line to run to the engine and one to run through the esc if that helps. Any info would be helpfull thank you.

Running 5s ~18v will raise the voltage from your 4s ~14v set up. It all depends on your electronics (ESC and motor kv)
Q: Do you know the difference between Men and Boys...?
A: The price of their toys.

      Welcome to OSE ,

If you have the Revolt v2 (version 2), your running the pro-boat 3630 (1800kv) motor & the 80A 6s compatible ESC (electronic speed control).

I am assuming there are 2 battery plugs because the recommended cells are 2 8.4v NiMH packs, 2 2s lipos in series, or 2 3s lipos for 6s power. Myself personally I would stick with 2 2s packs for 4s power just to be safe. If I were going to run 6s in a stock revolt, I would feel more comfortable upgrading the ESC to a Turnigy 180A marine ESC first.

Now if that is the 80A ESC, you can run 5s using 2 batteries like we do on our Aquacraft UL-1's. Get a 2s & a 3s battery, but make sure the ratings are identical on both packs ie: 5000mah 35c 2s & a 5000mah 35c 3s for 5s power in series...

      If you run pairs of packs wheather its 2 2s or a 2s & a 3s that don't match, odds are you'll have a fire. FYI ....
