    need cheetah help.....keeps spinning around

Yesterday I did some more testing and adjustments on my cheetah. I got it running really nice and fast with minimal blow overs .....mainly happening when running into the wind. The problem that I have that won't go away no matter how I have the strut adjusted is it'll flip around and do a 180 if I try to turn. I can make small gradual turns and its fine but if I try to turn at any speed it'll flip around. I put a skeg strut on it with no change. I moved batteries around with no change. Longer rudder maybe?

Either your rudder is too short (it "looks" okay) or your servo is too weak. I had a similar problem with a 10S cat, wouldn't hold a straight line and spun out terribly. I changed out the servo to a digital type with a higher torque reading and the problem dissappeared. Try a HiTec 5645MG and make sure your BEC supplies at least 5.5 volts.

I changed the servo to a digital one with 200oz tq yesterday. No change except the boat goes straighter now. Only pic I could find of it. Maybe its too long? My Bec is set at 6v right now

What servo did you use? Not all are alike in spite of torque specs. Too, you are turning with the steering rod in compression, not the best from an engineering standpoint. What size setting rod? Consider beefing it up with larger diameter rod or sheathing it with tubing (brass or CF).

I'd rather not answer the servo question Lmao. I border d it from ose tho. Its called a feetech lol. I had a dynamite servo before. Believe it or not the fee tech(Lmao) seems like a pretty decent servo. My rod is stiff. I used a 4-40 rod and its pretty dang stiff. It will spin out either way. I dunno but I'm getting aggravated.

That a TFL rudder? looks pretty short for that hull to me. Not saying it's the same but that length on a Mean Machine induces the VERY SAME thing. Plus you have it way behind the prop---looks that way in the picture if I am not mistaken, at that distance it takes very little leverage for it to turn, I would minimize yout steering travel.

              This is how it sits

BTW, the pic of the rudder was a while back. It was before I put the strudder on. Still didn't help. I've limited my steering travel to 75% and it barely turns around at low speed but will still flip around on me.

Not an expert: but the strudder ( strut) looks really low to me. I thought typically cats have their prop shaft above the ride pads, but I am not sure with this hull.
When you say flip you mean the boat lands upside down or it "over steers" and spins 180*?
                  BTW, nice build! Looks great!

IMO the strut is to low. When you are at full throttle the strut is pushing the nose up and riding on the strut. Let off the power and the boat comes down and catches a front sponson. Raising the strut to at least level with the bottom should help everything. (It is running like a tunnel)

The strut is above level with the sponsons. You can't go by that pics on adjustments. Those pics were a week plus ago. I changed the strut height a lot. A video is worth a thousand words so here you go. Thus was yesterday after changing everything I can think of.

you need a longer rudder. I'd ditch the skeg too.

I'll get a longer rudder coming tonight after I measure mine and then cut the fin off the skeg.

The skegg is not the problem. It could be a radio problem.

Can you post new images of the back flat on a table? try to get the camera the same level as the top of the table.
