Several of us have run the ICE240s on 8S in SAW applications without issues. Admittedly I have not been as aggressive on 8S as I have been on 6S, nothing over 250 amps continuous. Of course I can't predict what may happen to others who are less carefull.......
.
jay, if that esc was cooled more efficiently with cooling blocks on both sides of the fet's, top and bottom, do you think that would raise that max of 250 amps?
Andrew just curious to know if this boat has a turnfin..looks to me to see one in the video. If yes get rid of it ..it slows the boat in few miles. Thanks Gill
p.s Sorry Mike to hijack your thread.

The limit of ESCs is the temperature they reach, not how many amps they draw. As an example the power section of the HydraICE 240 is identical to the ICE 200 aircraft controller, it is just cooled better so it's amp rating was raised. So if you can more effectively cool the ESC then in theory you could raise the amps it can handle.

Yes Gill it does have one on and we have removed it now. I am waiting on my MGM esc's to arrive to continue testing.
Cheers
