Ponton angle ("deadrise") on Hot Shot 24" tunnel hull

    Hi all.
I'm building a 24" Hot Shot for electric conversion.
I have a question regarding the angle on the pontons (the "deadrise").
Is this angle too steep on the stock Hot Shot? Should I make the pontons with less "deadrise"?

I am aiming for a fast turning hull.

    Thanks,
    Erik.

What is the stock sponson deadrise? There are a lot of OPC builders here but they may not be familiar with the old flat nosed HotShot. What power system will you be using?

I'll measure the sponson deadrise tonight.
Planned powersystem: OS lower unit, Leopard 3674 1400 kv, Etti 150 opto esc, 6 S, x440 or x442.

I've had both the old square nose and the Sprint, IMO you will have problems with that much power in these hulls, an Aquacraft UL-1 setup is plenty of power to push these designs beyond any stable hull speed.
Currently running a VS-1 with the UL-1 motor, much better hull design and longer but still wouldn't want any more power. A buddy of mine is attempting a TS-3 on 6s, so far the results are not what I'd be happy with. Sure goes like stink in a straight line, if it stays on the water.....
He did a beautiful conversion on it, if it were mine I'd be dialing the power back. To each his own. He is more into the top speed thing, I like turning laps. If he gets it dialed in it will fly.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

          Thanks for your input.

I am building this hull, and I might go for a less powerful setup. I have not tried a tunnel before, so I don't know much yet.

However, I also want to build a 6S low kv tunnel hull that *turns really well*. I am interested in accelleration and turning ability primarily.
Do you guys have any suggestions for appropriate hulls?

          Thanks,
          Erik.
