I do think if you build a wooden mono on a shallow V would do ok but a deep V ? My 26 mono is a Arpro 1. I just took everything out and put a 3S Kershaw motor in with a Octura 438 prop with a single 4000 3S lipo for the h*** of it, just to see how it will do. Bench testing proved I was correct and CG is 30%.
Ok, that's good info. I'm pretty much committed to using this motor at the moment so will see how it goes on 3s 40c. My deep v is extremely light. Weighs less then my mini boats! I will let you know how it goes. If it breaks I will just have to upsize. Thanx

Wow, thanks for all the input guys! I was gone for a few days and was amazed at the input on this thread. I'm still a little new to FE boats, but I've been racing RC road course cars for years so I'm experienced with brushless/lipo combos in cars, but only on 2S. It'll take a little while for me to catch up on some of the numbers here. I really like the idea of dual motors with counter rotating props. Riddle me this - could a boat this large be powered by (2) 3656 1800kv on 4S if it was propped conservatively? (essentially 2 revolt setups) or would that let the magic smoke out?

Sorry for the newbie question, just curious what you thought!

There is one motor, two of them should push the boat fine. You can make a water cooled mount or contact south river rc boats in new jersey they sell them for outrunners. Esc could be a seaking 180, people have ran them in setups like this they can handle the amp draw no problem. start small with props like twin x447s. I would go 2028 castle with sf 240 but if you're set on outrunners the setup I mentioned will do just fine.

Well how fast did you want that 55"hull to go with the 3656 1800kv motors ?

I think you would need some 120a esc for those motor to handle that hull,

I modded a 36"PB Shockwave to FE and hitting about 45mph on 4s in parallel,
The set is a LP 4074 2200kv , Turnigy 120a esc , x646/3 prop with all stock hardware.

And in my 32"Pursuit on 4s the setup is a LP 4074 1800KV, Turnigy 180a esc, X447/3 prop,
Gps speeds of 45mph and on 6s 58mph and run cooler to.

In response to Lenny, I'm looking for maybe 35 to 40 mph. For me, that should be plenty - this boat is much larger and heavier than I'm used to.
In reponse to iridebikes, I'm not dead set on outrunners, and do agree that the castle 2028 on 8S with a SF 240 should be a reliable, fast, and fun setup.

Am I crazy for still wanting to go dual motor with c/r props? Would I be able to run two indivdual 4S setups in the boat (2 motors, 2 esc's, and two 4S packs, with each supplying one power system, and still reach my speed/run time goals?

Nope, only the one currently installed in my revolt. Just looking at 4S to start out with because I have some nice 4S packs. Would like to move up to 5S and possible 6S per setup.

After several nights of searching and reading, I've come up with a list of electronics and hardware that I'll list later, I would certainly appreciate any input on what I plan to use. Thanks again for all your helps thus far! Jeff
