I have one and I use the "standard" receiver, seen the new one but since these old ones worked flawlessly, I was reluctant to chance it.
I was skeptical with this radio until I saw a very well known and respected member using it in a race. I now have a few boats with this and I have to say I love it. It gives very good range---I know it is silly to point this out, all reputable brands give good range but I have my own "Bermuda Triangle" where both of the two "popular" brands have issues. I have not experienced this with the FlySky Gt3b yet.Too many boats, not enough time...Comment

If you do not need multi model programability you may want to look into the new non digital screen version. Comes with rechargable lipo battery for the transmitter and is pretty much fool proof as no complicated electronics or screen to get screwed up. Sometimes KISS works best. http://www.wowrcmodel.com/flysky-fs-...s-gt2-gt2.html The receivers are dirt cheap at 5-8$ depending on where you buy them and the same as in the GT3B. The newer F series reciever is said to increase range by 100' even though the older ones had great range. See new receiver here. http://www.hobbypartz.com/79p-gr3f.htmlComment

I was an "early adaptor" of the GT3b. For over two years I have used mine in my eight-boat fleet with 100% happiness factor. I actually sold two of my Futaba Rx's, used the proceeds to purchase the GT3b and seven Rx's, a lipo battery for the Tx and had enough left over for a major cheeseburger overdose. What more can I say ?
One WARNING : You may have to endure smug comments from high-dollar radio owners such as " I cant see the logic in using a $35 radio in a $1200 boat " usually uttered as they run down the lakeshore holding their radios high overhead like some invisible kite string trying to reunite their radio with their boat.

Oh boy, another fs-gt3b thread........ I agree with proper chopper, I've had my own experiences with the gt3b radio. It is a good radio but the firmware is faulty on the gt3b, so not all the functions work correctly. You can buy a gt3b that's been flashed with the correct firmware from forum member, overkillrc. Rather than buy an older b model, spend an extra $10 and get the new fs-gt3c model. Get the green model, not the orange model. The orange model had a faulty button issue, that was corrected on the green model. I think the best flysky may be the fs-gt3c in the dsss frequency, over the fhss version.Comment

they work very well but after using Futaba radios for 20+ years you still get the "toy" feeling from this radio. We call ourselves the "Q"Comment

Some work well apparently, although the ones my club members have tried didn't do so well. And I do remember watching Tony running up and down the bank of Legg Lake a couple years ago holding his FlySky transmitter over his head like he was fly fishing with light tackle.....don't remember the version.

I'm using the gt3b with LCD display. Excellent and cheap. There is an Asian seller on Ebay I buy all my radios and charges off. Very cheap and friendly customer service. 38 bucks for this radio. Search seller called sontoon. You won't have any dramas with them."Speeds just a matter of money, how fast do you wanna go?"Comment
