    Repair or buy new

    Hi All,

Im newish to the site and have been reading for a long time. this is my first post.

I purchased my first FE boat from tower about a month and a half ago. I bought an Aquacraft Revolt 30. I like it a lot and it seems to run pretty darn good. I alos bought 2 10,000 MAH traxxas lipos and a 45*68 prop. It seemed like a great combination. My dad got the bug and decided to buy one as well. His is stock with 2 5k lipos. With the prop i purchased mine is actually quite a bit faster.

Well long story short we were out at our local lake running the boats, and apparently i felt like cutting his off. Yep sure enough his nose punched a hole right through the keel on my boat. I pulled it in and saw the hole so took it off the water before anything got flooded.

Here are a couple of pictures:

As you can see even the motor mount broke. Now my question to you is, should i attempt to repair it? im pretty good with fiberglass and gelcoat. Or should i just junk it, sell the internals and hardware off and buy something else?

If i should just junk the hull, can i buy a bare hull and use my hardware on something else? If so any suggestions?

    thanks!

How would you recommend fixing it? As if it were a real boat? Anything inparticular i should do with it being rc?

      thanks

I would just do some modding to it and make it stronger at it's weak points.
Also you could do a custom paint job on it to,
That is if it is in dry dock long enough.

Couple layers of glass and epoxy on the inside then epoxy and filler on the outside to smooth things out.
A delta force 29 or clone is a really nice handling fast boat with that power system, love mine!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Easy fix, just repair it like siberianhusky mentioned. A little sanding, priming, then painting and its good as new.

I agree, with the above, I'd remove the other mount and pick up a new one off OSE, lay glass across the whole back area. After that is set sand the bottom flat and fill it with reinforced epoxy and sand smooth when set. Install new motor mount and go play some more. Fun project, not much time or money, and a good learning experience! If you replace the stuffing tube you can now get your motor lower and flatten the shaft angle....might pick up a knot our two :)
              This is NOT a toy?!?

Versus real boat, stick with thin glass and easy on the epoxy as it can add weight fast.

I was looking at the mounts, I think I like these two, which would you recommend?

Based on my personal experience, this one would work just fine with your application:

I have that mount installed in 4 of my boats and they are solid...and I've had no problems at all.

Cool I'll order it. What are my options as far as upgrades?

I would definitely repair that. I love my revolt. I usually grab it first.

Here's a shot of that mount in my SV27, post 15 shows the interior.

I would replace the stock shaft at some point...I held on to mine until my favorite M545 feel off! Dang!!
I also replaced the stock battery tray with a custom ply job...not sure of any gain, but it looks and works better.
Other than that I am bone stock, run upper 40's on a M645 consistent, with decent handling.

Deff get a flex shaft. I ordered the hd shaft for the impulse 31 from ose. I had to cut about 3/8" off the flex and removrd the teflon liner. I run a lep 2200kv witg a m545 and the drive system is rock solid
