Three blades, all left hand rotation. Choice of sizes and pitches. Stick to the 46mm?

As far as the motor, I don't know. That's why I am here for all of this hardware. For now I'm staying with the 31" hull.Comment

Reconsider what? Motor? You guys run these boats, know your stuff, and I would consider you the experts, that's why I am here. But the experts seem to be be clashing a bit. This is all totally different than the scale boats I run. I know a real boat would run better with 3 blade over two blade. I'm at a loss now.Comment

So where you at in NJ ?
I have another 32" mono running that I will post for you later tonight after work,
May be the setup in that will work good for your 31"hull.Comment

Ok,
This is my 32"L x 9 1/2"W Pursuit mono with a 4074 1800kv and 180a turingy esc and running a x447/3 prop.
It runs good on 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, and the temps are staying at 120f on a full 5 minute run on a turnigy 6s 40c 5000mah pack,
Runs just as good on 4s and 5s to.
Hears a link to some pictures and video's to.

Fast boat Lenny. I'll have to read all the comments later. What lake are you running that boat in? In NJ?
New development on which boat maybe. At our club meeting last night we had a possible new member from the area who is into heli's but wants to build a boat like this. So some of our discussion was about fast boats and helis. I mentioned what I plan to do and one member said he had a 45 inch Scarab hull that his son never built. It might be 15 years old or so, see the pic he sent me in email. I'm going over his house after work later to take a closer look at it. Not sure who made the hull but it looks like what I am looking for, although a bit bigger.Attached FilesComment

This Dumas Scarab was just GIVEN TO ME by a friend of mine. He bought it a while ago for his son who never built it. Has a the Dumas trim tabs and other hardware. The motor might be under powered for this. The motor is a brushless AVEOX 1412/2Y and the ESC is HybriDrive L160uP. The ESC manual page says 4-16 cells, 65A.
So this is bigger than I wanted, but it was free. He gave it to me considering that I would build it and not sell it. Is this worthwhile to build? The hull weights about 10 pounds on my crappy scale. I think it needs a bigger motor.Comment

Another picture and the spec sheet on the motor.Comment

Nice freebee you got there,
The lake is called Franklinville lake and is hear. http://search.yahoo.com/r/_ylt=A0oG7...klinville-lake
And it is about 7 minutes from the house,
RC gas boats and full size gas boats & jet skis run there to some time.Comment

Your down by Glassboro. So would this be a worthwhile project?
I found someone local who is selling a Leopard LPB 5698 910KV with motor mount and cooling jacket for $100 for a boat he never built. Will this be OK for the Scarab?
He is also selling an unbuilt hull only Aeromarine 57" Apache for $200.Comment

Yes, About 10 minutes from Glassboro.
Not sure just yet,
First how big is that Scarab hull ?
And also how fast do you want this hull to go and is it just for sport running and having fun ?
Also how much money do you want to put in to this build ?
Did you get any pictures of the Aeromarine 57" Apache for $200.Comment
