    Pressurized hull challenge

Guys, i exchanged a few emails with Steve Neu to make sure a pressurized hull would not present any problems to Lipos and or a motor. The answer was no. I realize it would be difficult to get the required seal to pressurize a hull but i think its doable using a valve similar to one found in a football. Would this even make sense or have benefits outside of being pretty trick?

I don't see the benefit, whatever you use to seal the driveshaft will add friction, and there is a chance the pressure will push the tape off and result in a wet boat.

On a separate note. I bought some of this. (Ultra ever dry) Its is non conductive. You can coat the inside of the hull motor esc etc... It works as advertised.

I was tempted to coat bottom of the hull, but it will not stick to a very smooth surface and obviously waxed surface.

I agree with Doby, why ?. Theres nothing to be gained...... Have you been reading hot rod articles about pressurized crankcases or something ?

Sounds like just making something as simple as taping a hatch a real complex issue for no gains that I can possibly see. I never get water in any of my boats so I really don't understand why. Never could say the same with the radio boxes on my nitro boats, alway had a bit of moisture fogging the lid the by the end of the first run, screws neoprene seals blah, blah blah, none were ever perfect.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Nope, been doing it the same way for years, hatch locks just another place to leak, good ol hockey shin pad tape, nobody I run with uses anything in most boats, one buddy does have one bolt and blind nut holding down the lid of his rigger, tape still seals out the water.

Ya some ideas just boggle my mind.......this is one of them, pretty much an exercise in futility in my books. But it has been a few months since somebody has decided to revolutionize sealing up our boats, guess what? Everybody is still using tape! Why? Because it's simple and works very well....
Good luck with this one. You'll be back to taping them up before long.

i use clear Renfrew hockey tape as well for sealing the hatch + no auto bailer = no water

I did not bring up the idea with the only goal of keeping the water out of some toy plastic boat. Rc submarines use it for ballast etc.... Think outside the box. Longer term i could envision it being used for dynamic
ballasting in turns hole shots etc... I remember when altering props was a stupid idea. Now it's mainstream. I encourage everyone to think with some level of creativity and quit replying with all of these negative preschool comments. There are clearly members of this forum that have significant investments in their boats ie including turbines etc...

I don't believe silly ideas exist.

Mike, did i mention water when i sent out first comment on pressurized hull? Seems like a great deal of assuming has gone on.
