    Bondo for Hulls

What do you use for patching and filling blems in fiberglass hulls?

I won't use anything from bondo. I am fond of evercoat's products, primarily 'Rage' . It's so much better than bondo. Its lighter, sands faster & feathers better ....

Try to go with a finishing glaze. Pretty much any brand will do. The difference is finishing glaze is designed for light skimming and not for building up, so it is very smooth and leaves no pinholes. If you need heavy build then you need a new hull. That said, go to an automotive paint supplier and grab finishing glaze of any manufacturer ( they will have quality products ) and go for it.

It's just a scuff at the bow, maybe 2" X 1/4". There's hardly any depth to it.

                    Many thanks!

I use marine epoxy putty-- super strong and perfect consistency. See this thread, towards the end-- my son ran his Miss G up on some rocks and shredded the sponsons and I needed something that would both repair and also blueprint. I found it at West Systems.

If it's not taking on water and the scuff is not really deep you might want to wait until you get all the bugs out.
Fill and sand and then repaint as necessary. Good luck

                          Hi Chief,
Is this what you used? It's the only Putty I can find in their line.
