Not to stir the pot but most of the guys on here that offer advice know more about setups and tuning than you could ever hope to learn. Some have been racing since before electric systems were ever thought to be put in a boat... If you post on here asking for advice listen to what is said. Setting up a boat in this scale is a hell of a lot different then a real boat..
what's you cog set at? Is your flex binding causing load on motor. Do you grease the flex?. What size connectors are on the motor and esc wires? Do u have an extra cap bank. Are your props balanced? Are the sponson ride surfaces flat. All these things must be considered when setting up a catamaran.
You don't have to believe it but any one of those things can cause speeds to change drastically.. look around in any thread where newbs are asking for help. Do any of them disregard what the long time members say?.. it called respect towards those who are more knowledgeable on a subject..
I have been racing, tuning, building and repairing RC vehicles for 18 years. I know a lot of crap but I still don't know everything and I'm not afraid to try a suggestion to see if it helps...

The only question I need answered were 1. Why am I not getting enough power that was answered. 2. Do I spend 60-70 in props or 100 on different motor and 2-3 props. That question has not really been answered just a lot of beating around the bush. I feel a big prop will just be too much for the boat and it will ride like hell. Smaller prop more rpm seems to look like the golden ticket vs jarge prop and a lot of torque

            For what its worth,
I have a Mean Machine hull (no its not the same as yours but...), I ran it with a leopard 4074 2200 kv on 5s2p with an x640 (cavitation like crazy off the line) and hit 56.7mph pulling 179.61 amps, this caused me to blow my esc since the rpm was way to high at that amp draw. My new setup is a 4082 1550 kv on 5s2p (the same as the other) but this time since I'm running less rpm and a slightly larger motor, I am running an m545 prop (almost no cavitation) which has has netted me 55.4 mph but only pulling 149.61 amps. This is with no change in setup other than the motor and prop. I bet with moving the lipos back a little I could make up the missing few mph, but I'm happy with where its at now. What the raw data is saying is that you can run a larger prop with your setup since your motor is only in the 1000kv range and only on 6s. You may just want to give a larger prop a try, heck, put a higher pitch with a larger diameter prop on it. I bet you'll see the difference and the benefit of a longer run time. I never every punch the throttle from a stand still on my boats, the amp load would beat the living crap out of my system. A lower kv = more torque, you can make up the rpm with a higher cell count.

Don't regret starting this thread, there is no way anybody can pinpoint the exact problem for every bodies setup. It's mostly trial and error. I have data logged over 80 runs with my Mean Machine before I have arrived where I'm at. This hobby is for the curious only. IMO

Have fun good luck! We are here to help!

Well I'll try out some new props I will try 3 blade x447. And I guess I'll get some 2 blade 447-55? All I can picture is a bunch of roll but I hope to be proved wrong. Any prop suggestions that ose has in stock?

Just for the record, what is the actual kv of your motor?

I keep forgetting you can buy cheepy motors for next to nothing. You mentioned getting a different motor next season. I thought maybe getting close in a shorter time might have been desirable. For me.......a $100 motor and one prop isn't the answer because I don't run $100 motors unless it's spec racing.

Should we list credentials? haha I've built and raced a few boats. I've cut back to 40 boats I think.

You should find out where madmikepags is. He's in NY too. His oval cats are the fastest in the US.

                            Runs nice and smooth.

It was said in fun, hence the ":)". However, allowing newbs to come in here and basically insult everyone who is attempting to help and offer advice sure as hell does not make it a better place either.. Sorry, all due respect, but with all that is going on in here- you single out THAT comment? Really? Wow. I've been here almost as long as you and have never seen senior members insulted like this for trying to help. But, you're right, it is my comment that was out of line.
