A 2200kv on 6s is pure SAW territory, a few seconds up the lake & back & that's it come in to cool off & is very risky still escpecially with budget motors like Leopards etc. Stick with 1500-1600kv max on 6s & you should see 60mph & be more reliable.Comment

1527/1Y on 6s x450 prop with 10,000mah will get you high 50's for close to 5 minutes of runtime. We call ourselves the "Q"Comment

the NEU is much more expensive but you get what you pay for. most of my Neu motors are 4+ years old and run flawlessly, I recently sent back a bunch of motors just because they were older and wanted new bearings, wires, and all balance checked and rebalanced if necessary. $30 each included shipping. They are great motors and great people to deal with.We call ourselves the "Q"Comment

I just want to say that having a real boat does not mean that you automatically know a lot (if any) about boats in general. A few of your posts in this thread proves that. I was born and raised on an island, and I see the same mentallity you have shown to have. I mean not to disrespect or offend you. That's just something I had to get off of my chest.
A bigger prop or higher blade count will typically help you get out of the hole faster.
Raising the strut beyond a certain point will hurt your take off.

Also, the L45x68 Grim prop you ran is a "lifter" prop, more for hydros, I'm not surprised it took a while to grab. It's not all about the size of the prop, there is way more to props than that. Other than size, the pitch and blade shape have a huge effect on what it does. An M445 for example is 45mm, but a much different prop than your grim L45x68. I wouldn't sink a ton into a Genesis, but IMO your best bet is a Leo 4082/1600kv, but if you can afford it a Neu will last you much longer. Also, sounds like you moved your strut too far up. Def agree that the hull is too narrow for bigger props, you need something 45 or under spinning at over 30,000rpm to get moving good without rolling over on acceleration(torque roll). My private off road rc track

No disrespect but I believe mike had found the problem. And as a boat owner I could tell it is not running right. Any other person would probably think its running fine. I am new to electrics on Hk website they said max for motor was 6s. But if you knew about turning power into speed the first thing you need is the power. You can't just put a big prop on and say this will go fast. As I stated I have 2 props runs pretty good with smaller 42 prop as soon as you put on the 45 the boat does not take off well so please give me any reason why a bigger prop would help the situation. It is like putting 45" mudders on a 4cy Honda civic. It just does not work. Ps kev it's people like you that will disrupt a whole thread. I could sit and bicker over the years I have been driving and maintaining boats. But I would rather not. Anyone else that owns a genesis I bet there strut is just about all the way up. Any one correct me if I am wrong.Comment

I know it's probably not the most ideal prop. But it's also not the idel motor for the setup. So I'm going to get the right motor and then the right prop for that motor. If anyone thinks different let me know I would like to just change the prop and get 10-15mph out of it but I do not think that is the caseComment

Now I'm confused.... Everything I have read says the Leopard hands down makes more power than the TP Power???My favorite search engine http://google.comComment

ok for one your strut being all the way UP IS GOING TO MAKE THE BOAT RUN WET!! therefore slower. i have had a genesis. any single motor cat that you run the strut all the way up in the sponsons is going to be much slower then it can be. drop the strut down but keep the angle neutral and i bet you its faster! but you have to make sure the strut angle stays neutral. if you change the angle it will be the same as on changing the trim on your real boat nose up and down. once you get it ridding better then start to change the angle if needed. once i have a ride hight i like i play with cg instead of trim angle on my single fantasm. another thing i tried a 4092 in my genesis and it never wanted to go in a straight line, it just didnt work to much roll on such a narrow cat. it would just bury the sponson and dig.Comment

OK, no offense but this thread touches on one of my biggest pet peeves- somebody that asks questions, but "knows" all the answers... YES- your KV is technically too low, NO- a bigger prop will not take longer to plane out- it is the TYPE of prop that caused that, YES- if it does take longer to plane- try dropping your strut to get more bite, YES- even with a low KV motor, a bigger prop will get it out of the hole harder, YES a bigger prop with more pitch will give you more speed- even with that motor. No more, no less. Mike has excellent advice, as do many others here. Don't ask questions then respond to all the answers with "no offense but I work on real boats, I know what I'm talking about" If you did, you wouldn't ask in the first place. We all learn as we go, you have been given some good advice here, take it or leave it.My favorite search engine http://google.comComment
