I am thinking a laser may take the guess work out for the turn fins setting,
    And some shimming blocks.
When I do some testing today I will take the turn fins off and see if that helps any in the straights,
And also see what happens in the turns.

Are they 4s packs setting on each side of the motor or 2s ?
My esc is setting on the port side of the motor and the cell or cells sit in back of the motor area.
I thinking of setting it up like yours is.
I ran it today and took some video's of it on 4s and 5s,
It did not run to bad with this setup today.

Ok thanks for that info and the pictures,
The added weight may help and the layout of the stuff may be the key to.
Loading some video's as we speak.

Where is your balance (cog) on this boat? As I recall out should balance about 11.5 from the stern if it balances around there it should run pretty well. That should be around 30 percent orso

Properchopper: You typed that the stringer should be 3/8" above the keel. Ok, is this 3/8" from keel to bottom of stringer or to the middle of stringer. I haven't read page 2 or most of of page 3. Thanks for your time. Ok, Ed Hughey told me once that 5/16" from keel to bottom of strut. I've been doing away from t/tabs and came out great. I like using full strakes and have had good success . Have a good day!

Yeah 9.5 from stern is good. 11.5 is too far forward.

I run about 9.5" as well. I've been meaning to contact you Shaughnessy- got the prop several days ago now. Much more stable over the 45mm props! Still needs some more dialing in but it is getting there. I dropped the tabs a bit more but have not had a chance to get back out with it, maybe tomorrow. Big improvement with the 642 though, thank you!

Awesome, I've been waiting to hear from you. Glad it made a difference, any GPS with it? Did you try it on your geico?

                              Thanks for the input,

Hears mine running today after adjusting tabs to level and stinger to 1/16+
Than I put tabs up one turn and that was about 3/16 from level with the bottom.
First run on 4s gps at 42mph and other two on 5s and top speed was 46mph on a x447/3 in all the video's.
I may take the tabs down 1/16".
                              On 4s.

                              On 5s.

                              On 5s.
