Thanks for the kind words Tony. As for my stinger the bottom of it is flush with the bottom of the boat and has a lil positive ( got it that way from a member here). All I did was a couple small adjustments on the tabs and put on a 5 inch ( down to 4 5/8 now and bottom is rounded. 2 7/8" down from center line of prop) rudder from kintec. Also mine doesn't have two sets of tabs just one wide one. Those are about 1/16 up from the keel and then level off at the trailing edge. It runs good in smooth water but it is on the loose side for chop. CG is at ~ 9 1/2 from transom. I'll post a pic if you want to take a look.
Mike, after Stephen & I saw how your boat ran we both replaced our motors with Inter-Galactic Depleted Krypton WarpBlaster Thermo-nuclear Whompbangers to keep up. Got some fun racing coming up Better wear radiation-proof underwear for the next event

Can't quite make it out in the pics so just for clarification- when I mentioned the tabs being down 1/16", I was referring to them being mounted 1/16" above the bottom and was assuming they dropped that 1/16" to touch the straight edge at the trailing end. Is that the case or are they parallel with it? Your stinger angle looks about like where mine was. I never measured my CG, so I'll have to and see where it is. I just moved it by feel until the boat was loose and fast with the old setup. The power the new one makes is what requires all this additional fiddling..
This is the only video I have of it and its not really that good. Recording with my phone taped to my tx so shaky footage plus Im just putting it around most the time. There is a pretty good wide open pass towards the end about 1:40
Lol, which one did I get- parallel to the straight edge or adjusted to touch it haha? Sorry for the confusion. Looks to run very nicely. What prop do you run on it? Mine is much more "violent" accelerating with the 4082 1600 on 6s with a 45x1.4 prop. It will throw itself right out of the water if I throttle too hard, but top speed is probably close. I'll have to get a vid of it running one of these days.
That looks like it runs nice and a lot faster than mine I think,
I am using a 4074 1800kv with a x447/3 on 4s and also 5s.
Top speed so far is 43.8 on 4s,
Looks like I need to check my hardware setting and adjust some more on the stinger.
Adjusted to touch it. It's a 646/3. Run at your own discretion though. It's more of a winter prop if ya know what I mean
Gotcha. That's a lot of prop for that motor, IMHO. I see what you mean about it being a "winter prop" lol. With the 4082 on 6S with ax x445, it barely even gets warm and I get pretty good run time out of it still as well. It's a trade off I guess, still has a lot more left in it with more prop if I can keep it on the water lol.
I just got done reassembling it all from moving the strut. Propper- the drill bit walked when it hit the edge of the gel and it ended up high by about .045 or so, that should be ok, right? Find out shortly when I go run it :).
Well, got it out and it is much better as far as chine walking. The problem now is if something does upset it, it pretty much flips without warning whereas before, it would rock for a bit before getting uncontrollable. I think it just might be making too much torque for this hull and that sends it out of control when something does happen.
It was hopping pretty bad through turns after the change, to the point that it would flip when turning but I brought the stinger angle up some (trying to keep the bow raised) and that seemed to help tremendously. Overall, it is greatly improved but still has a long way to go if it is even going to work properly. I've seen a few vids with people running even more power than I am in these hulls, but never see a clean speed run, just a lot of flipping and skipping..
Hey,
Could you post some pictures of your setup in the hull with the cells in place ?
Mine is the stock setup from Kintec that I may want to mod down the line,
The cells sit in front of the motor mount at the moment.
I was thinking of a setup like Kwiktsi wood mounting rail that he made,
But was not sure just yet.
