For SAW's a good quality 1P 5000mah pack is all you need. Must in the southeast run Hyperion. They'll give you all the amps you need. High RPM's with smaller props work best (at least for me) to keep the amps from getting out of control. The motors are pushed well beyond their best efficiency range so they build up heat very quickly. That means only a couple passes are attempted before the boats are brought back in. Battery capacity isn't an issue.

Finally got a chance to correct all the things Doug smock told me was wrong with the boat this past weekend and got it in the water today, first I de tongued the x450, re balanced and sharpened it, took out the metric ton of batteries I had in the boat and stuck in 2 new turnigy 7600mah 40c 2s packs in series for 4s1p double checked the balance of the hull and got it to 9.375" from the transom raised the strut up quite a bit and got the bow up and flying like it should, amp draw cam in at 210 max and about 186 on average and the rpm was at 28873 for an average and a max of 30426.5 no idea as to the speed but this thing hauls the mail now!!! Doug, if you reed this, I can't thank you enough man! Whole different boat now!

Glad you got it all sorted out now. Doug knows his stuff and help me dial in my Rico mono as well.

Oh, I did go to a 2 blade instead of a 3 blade instead plus I de tongued it which is where I believe the vast majority of the improvement in overall speed came from, I likely could have left the 10000ma worth of packs I had in it and wouldn't have seen much of a difference from how it's running now but sense I don't have anywhere I can race locally runtime is not much of an issue... The abc props I've run in the past on my old gas boat never had a "tongue" so to speak so it was never an issue for me and if anyone is looking to improve on speed and is running an x series prop I strongly recommend looking into de tonguing!
