Revolt flex shaft problem

My opinion is that's not the proplem only because one of the flex shafts was mine i ran it 10- 15 runs in my boat with no issues when we put it in his revolt 2 seconds and it was gone. Something else going on here. Not to mention an expensive issue when you calculate the cost of 3 sharpened and balanced props and the flex cables.
If not...
I think at this point I'd remove the strut and inspect it, then pull the tube/liner and replace it....
If you have the gumption, this would be a good time to lower the motor and move it aft....I picked up a little speed and performance with about 15 minutes of cutting and grinding the original. I was also able to move my packs a little further aft and carefully align the shaft/motor.

Also going to add that the revolt is brand new and has a total of maybe 15-20 seconds of run time. For it to go through 3 shafts in that little time something is !#%# up. I would be pissed if this was my first boat. All that money and boat has went 50 yds!!!!!River cat,Aquacraft revolt,Mini mono,DF 33,DF29.Comment

Are you getting the bushing lubed well enough in that area? I've had them come apart there when they got heated up on the teflon and the material weakened. Put the shaft in without the motor in place and make SURE it is free of ANYTHING extra rubbing on it...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

If this is china manufacturing then question solved. Get a good one built by one of us..or ed hughey but this would not be the first of crap shafts made by them...just being real here.Comment

It's usually NOT the shaft... It's usually something rubbing ON the shaft...
All that said... Jeff IS right about ours being "better"... The mass produced ones aren't generally as "true" and are usually of an inferior metal.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Make no mistake, it's a manufacturer's defect.
I recently purchased two Revolts for myself and a friend, and on both boats the shaft fell off of the flex on the first run. I replaced them with aftermarket flex shafts and they have been fun little boats ever since.
It must be the latest "batch" of boats/flex shafts that had this issue.Comment

Hello keith and darin
I have checked this boat out from top to bottom. There is nothing out of wacke. I did mic. the flex shafts and they are all different.
I did buy this boat at tower hobbies. I talked to there service department and they said they had not heard of any flexshaft problems.
Tower was good about it to send me two new props and two new flex shafts. Flex shafts are on back order. Bottom line I ordered
a hughey.Comment

I had lost a brand new m445 on my Pursuit because the previous owner had a AC cable in it, not knowing at the time, lesson learned. All the after market flex cables sold here at OSE and other sites are good products, had no problem so far. I had Jeff made two for my Pursuit, BTW.
Having said that, I had my Proboat stock cable in my MG with a 4082, 2200kv motor and had no problem, but since the Pursuit incident, I changed ALL my cables to after market ones!Too many boats, not enough time...Comment

Your problems will be gone. The factory flexes were just improperly glued.
For any onlookers to this thread, OSE sells a pre-cut, drop-in upgrade flex shaft for the Revolt. If you replace it BEFORE your flex failure, you wont have to replace the prop too.Comment
