Help me to choose a motor for this hull

    Hello guys,

I found a nice Lap Cat Racing 32", I want to install an outboard motor and I'm thinking about the HOR outboard motor mount, what do you think about the scale of HOR outboard with the Lap Cat hull? Is it well made?

It will run with 6S batteries that' s why I need a 1700kV motor that kind of tunnel hull need high RPM, do you have any idea for a motor? I would like a powerfull outrunner but I didn' t find one with this RPM

    Thanks

This one is 1600kv. It is a 500 class heli motor, has a 4.98mm shaft

Dont use that one. I tried it on my ts3 and it wont take much prop at all. Gets hot very quickly. They seem to have over stated the wattage for that one. The prather is 2in longer than the ts3 so def not the best choice. There are lots of better ones either at HK or OSE. As fo the hor I think its too small. And likely has a 4mm shaft which is no where near enough for a 6s. I'm running the bullet drive 7.5 on mine. I wanted the 3/16 shaft, so far it seems a good match even for that size hull.

I was away for the weekend hence the non response. No reason to avoid an outrunner. Just have to choose a more suitable one. The turnigy t600 would be a great out runner for that hull. I use one on my 34in kneeler and it flies. I bought another for my hot shot 45. I was tempted to try it on my ts3 but think it would be too heavy. Your hull is 2" longer and 2 1/2 " wider so it should handle the weight fine and that motor will give you tons of torque and swing a good size prop with ease.

@ BHChieftain I have a MMP Rapid twin setup with two Scorpion 3026 - 1400kV and 2x6S, those motors are fantastic but expensive

I will have a look to Turnigy 600. I found a Turnigy 600 with very low kV, if you have the link, thanks

I didn' t work on the boats I had other things to do. Now I have free time I will continue with the Rapid first.

For the Lap Cat 32 Racing I bought a Scorpion 3026 - 1900kV. This is the most powerfull 500 class heli. I found the Turnigy but shaft is 6mm and HOR motor mount work with 5mm shaft

I don't think you will be happy with that motor on that hull. I've tried the 3226 1600kv on my ts3 and it wasn't nearly powerfull enough for me on that hull. Couldn't handle much prop. Your hull is even bigger and that is a smaller motor.

                            Two boats ???

No, Alfa is a hulls collector...
And, as usual, he asks "questions" but the answer has since bought what he wants regardless of the adviceS given to him (Scorpion 3026).

Do not waste your time with him, you just have to take a look on the french offshore forum to see it is on the verge of being banned.
He gives advice for beginners as it has never put a boat in the water, it multiplies the posts without reaching the beginning of the construction, etc...

HOR 32" Cat, Genesis, P1 Kos, Rapid, 47" Fountain, etc... I forget certainly many others.

                            Good luck my friends...

                            Regards,

                            Francois
