No problem other than when u turn the classic hatch around you get a very flat area up front that the motor can't go past. If you have tose packs look at the Mini Avenger, it's the same bottom as the sprincat and there's plenty of space to mount your packs in the sponsons. I've built 2 of these for my daughters because I have a bunch of those big 6s packs and I can move them around a lot for CG.

It's not too hard to make the turbine hatch water tight. I've done it on all 3 sizes of sprintcats. I prefer the rails. Also, like jay does, I run the packs on the tunnel floor. 6s 5000's may not fit there though, depending on hatch choice and brand of cells. Another good sport setup is the 1527 1.5d on 5s2p with a x452 or x455.Comment

if you're running offshore you will need 10,000 mah and then they wont fit on the tunnel floor with the turbine hatch (I think) I'll check when I get home tonite and let you know. Yes its very easy to make the turbine hatch watertight. I think you're 1521 will work fine, My pMono weighs more than my Sprintcat and I use a 1521 in there and it's a missle. We call ourselves the "Q"Comment

If I can't make something work with these packs, well then, Mark F will be hearing from me for some new dinos.
All that being said though, I do already have a 1527 1.5d in my cart...........My private off road rc track

It's hard to ignore all the talk about how awesome and dominant the Sprint Cat is. Is the Avenger an the same level of performance? Or does the extra height hold it back?
Steven does have an Avenger in stock.............My private off road rc track

I haven't seen the avenger 36 built or run yet, but I'm willing to put money on it that it would kill the Df catComment

I've seen the Team Believer run (same as the new Avenger 36 with a different hatch) and it is a good race boat. I can't compare it to the SprintCat as I've not seen the two run together, but I like the looks of the A-36 a lot. I too would expect the Avenger 36 to outperform the DF cat on an oval race course, but then I haven't seen both run together either. Here is my 6S SprintCat at Legg Lake a few years ago.

I honestly don't think it means much that a boat can beat the DF Explorer in anything other than a straight line, my Explorer is only 11" wide and will not safely turn at speed, these other hulls are 14"-14.5" wide, they obviously will turn better and flip less. The Explorer is great in a straight line, I get 69mph(gps) consistently with just one Leo 4082, and Kieth Bradley has broken 100mph I believe but that is an apple, now I want an orange,......... and also maybe a new bananna(new hydro).
Also worth noting, OSE show the Avenger being 1lbs-4oz. heavier than the sprint cat..........Last edited by kevinpratt823; 05-11-2013, 08:50 PM.My private off road rc track
