I used single stage Summit Racing Urethane, but Krylon would be lighter in weight....although not as durable.

Definitely not going to use spray paint. I know some people like epoxy paint and other like automotive. Not gonna paint anytime soon just looking at the options for what is the best for a boat application.Comment

I have the Sport 20 strut (first one) on mine. Keep this in mind too... This is only my opinion; the further away the prop is from the transom, the harder the motor needs to work to lift the boat. Your increasing the length of the lever arm...

In the first picture, isn't the strut fitted into the bracket the wrong way around? Surely the tapered end should be facing forward in relation to the mounting bracket.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Yes. But yours is fitted into the bracket 180 degrees the other way. That's all I'm saying. It is not fitted the right way round in the link photo.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!
