The quickest way for you to get to 70mph is to spend your money and commission a build , in my opinion none of these RTR would get you there without you going out of your way to modify, improve and finally either build your own or have someone else build one for you.
As Heaving Earth pointed out much earlier, there is a long way between 70 mph and 90 mph, and that distance is measured with experience/equipment/money ( budget) amongst other things.
If I were you I will enjoy the Spartan to its fullest potential without unrealistic goals and go from there, most of us started out at a speed that is far less than 70mph, and in no way am I trying to dampen your enthusiasm.
Also, if you just want to break speed record, you should consider SAW set up. There are members here who are record breakers and title holders, you are in the right place for knowledge and advice.
    Cheers!

I completely understand and respect everyone and everything you all have to offer and in no way want to offend anyone and like you all I grew up racing rc cars which were brushed and now the whole game has change getting back into it after all these years is a big change. I just want to enjoy it with my three young boys and give them something to enjoy and see how great the hobby is and teach them along the way. I hope to learn as much as I can from everyone here and want to share and enjoy my experience with all. Thank you everyone for any help and input. Zachary

yeah I think what I'll do is play with that for a little bit as I have been out of the hobby for quite some time now. I used to race RC cars on a professional level Grover 10 years. Which I noticed a little bit different as I have had those before but never anything brushless.brushless is a whole new ballgame and so forth so far seems like a lot of fun.I am going to unbox it tonight and put on all the modifications so that I can have it ready for tomorrow. I will post a video love it tomorrow afternoon is not at latest Wednesday. Because I want to get a good video of it and want to make sure that it is setup right. I am also going to run my miss Geico 17 inch boat that I have highly modified.I cannot wait to show everyone my GPS on how fast I got that little boat To run. do you think that most people are now going to electric instead of gas? To me it seems like it might be a little bit more expensive but at the same time seems like a lot of fun and more consistent.

hey guys I got my blow up and running in today was the first run. I didn't get a chance to get my 17 inch bolt running as I spent half the day working on my Spartan. I'm going to postsee you tonight so that everyone can see. It was a lot of fun and my boys enjoyed it.

Blowing up is not the problem, the speed is just not realistic, there are only a few guys in the world that have done 90mph w a mono hull and thats w/ years of tuning and practice with high power motors and batteries and custom hulls. The hull is just not capable of those speeds, and a crash at those speeds would disintegrate that ABS hull. Enjoy your fun w/ your kids, I have my 12 year old daughter racing her 5th season now and my 8 year old is on her 3rd full season, and now this year my niece decided to join in the fun. It's a little strange when all the guys are there w their sons and I'm there w 3 pre teen girls, but they really enjoy it, and I love spending the time with them, we wake up early on sunday morning, get on the road before 7am, laugh, listen to tunes, call all the guys that are on their way to the race, then race all day, and then we go out to dinner afterwards. Oh and they are getting very good at it too!!!!!!!!

The fastest I got mine was 67.9mph and it ran fairley stable if I had kept it I think I could have broke 70 but its harder than it sounds to get that extra few mph's

well I talked to guy I met the other day at the hobby store who races RC boats and he showed me a few tricks 1 is shaving down the rudder edge to making it almost as sharp as a knife and then taking the edge off so it doesnt vibrate so I did that then I went ahead and rounded the front of the rudder bottom of it as he told me he said that would be good for an extra 2 miles per hour.and I went ahead and got my 2 3 cell lipo packs ready to go so that way I can run it again tonight.I am trying to post the video there any other night but I'm having a hard time for some reason as I think it might be because I'm trying to do it from my phone. Anyone know if I'm right and if I have to do it from my computer or can I do it from my phone I have a samsung galaxy s 2.

yeah the only thing is the batteries were only have charged because I had to get out to the day before I drove it with the boys. So I'm planning on putting the 4s packs in it tonight and my leopard motor should be in any day now.and I'm going to have the new drive shaft in it also with the new esc 180 turnigy

all I know is the boys had a great time doing it. I also plan on having the Geico 17 up and running within the next day or two. And will post that video and I think it will nasal lot of people how fast I got the bruhed motor boat to run with its new brushless setup.
