Traxxas Spartan about to arrive Monday morning. ..

hey everybody just wanted to let you know I'm getting my Traxxas Spartan in on Monday and I have all the upgrade available for it ready to rock n roll. Going to make its first maiden voyage on Tuesday with my misguided 17 that I extremely modified. Will post both videos Tuesday afternoon after I run it planning to run 6 s 80 to 100 C 6000 mah with upgrade flex shaft Oct or a prop leopard motor I just will trim tabs and turns fins.my goal is to make my Traxxas do 90 miles per hour. And hopefully make my miss geico 17 hit 60 miles per hour that is my goal. Any tips on modifying the Traxxas Spartan are welcome.

I doubt you will be able to do 90 mph, that's a little unrealistic. This boat barely breaks 50 mph on a slightly modified setup. What mods are you planning?

Here's a tip, don't bother posting that you hope to achieve 90mph with a spartan unless you want an argument on here.
Just post a video when you get it out there.
Unrealistic is a good word for your goals with these boats tho

I hope that's not for real as I have seen guys on YouTube with the boat hitting 60 70 miles per hour. I plan on doing a drive shaft flex Mod. the leopard motor the off set rudder with dual pickups and the Tringy esc 180. Adjustable trim tabs, turn fins, octura prop, oh the leopard motor is the 4082 with 2200 kV. I have two 6s 6000mah 80-120c packs that I plan on running with it. question do you think that I can run 4 6s packs in parallel with it beeing as two 12c packs ? or is it just not achievable?

well my goal is to try. And if I blow the boat up the hell with it it should have been built better. If its not fast enough I'll get a bigger one.

I have a spartan and very much doubt that hull will handle those speeds, love to see it but you will struggle with chine walk . If you want huge speeds like the others said start with a bigger better hull

70 and 90 are a long way apart when you start getting up to those speeds. I def wouldn't try four 6s packs, more weight is gonna slow you down.

well let me ask y'all question what do you think is the top speed that one of the Traxxas Spartan has hit that has been proven? and what kind of speed you think realistically I can get to.I was planning on reinforcing the hull and filling it with foam to help it.any other tips would be welcome As I am going to try it just to see what I can get

I will have video of it on Tuesday with my GPS to record the speed to see what I can get.

                    I estimate you'll get close to 70

Would agree with 70 I hit 96km/h and its pretty unstable

If you want big speeds maybe add extra trim tabs people say that has worked and batteries to the back will keep the hull out of water for drag loose stability. 4 batteries is a lot of weight and running at those speeds will get a lot of heat and won't be able to get Long run times

I have 4 adjustable trim tabs with two turn fins that I'm going to put on it.hopefully I can hit at least 70mph.if not I plan on buying a Genesis this Friday and we'll switch over the components to it that I can and buy whatever else I might need. That might be a better platform for reaching that kind of speed. What do you think

                            Proven?
                            on 4s or 6s or ???
                            stock or modded ??
and going through the timing traps none has been proven of any speeds.... just sayin
if you want speed you should look into a glass hull not plastic for those speeds... high speed crash and well........................................

Ya I think i might just give it to my boys. I should have done a little more research but I'm very impulsive. Looks like friday ill be buying a geniuses what do you think of that should be a good enough platform? Do most guys go with twin motors or single what would you suggest I want to stay electric though nothing else u know.I just want something that I can make speed runs with and try to break records with it.
